Anyone else heard that Kam single New Message featuring Akon? I don't feel the beat... they sampled The Message of GMF, but they fucked up somehow. I like about everything from the song, but the instrumental doesn't fit the song :-\

They sped it up. I don't care for the beat until it reaches the end of the verse and you hear those instruments come in. It's just 5 seconds of glory.

It's not a bad song...but I feel like there's something missing on it. Don't know what though...

Yeah I've heard it, pretty good. Kam's not nearly as good as back in the day, but still a step ahead of 90% of the game.

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.
