Story Burst
« on: September 13, 2004, 10:10:26 AM »
This is how it all started once upon a time
There was three of us niggaz we were like family in our prime
Two of us into rap in a real big way
The other used to have his head in books all through the day
Like I said earlier family we was, always together
Everyone would expect to see us be friends to the end, you know forever
However as you grow old people drift apart
A hard fact of life but you get through if your smart
I remember when the first one left to expand his knowledge
Leaving just the two of us back home to get thorough college
See university was never for him or me
At least I thought that was the case until the influence of jealousy and envy
Now in my life a lot of things I have seen
But I never thought one of my niggaz I would see turn green
By now a long way from friends we would become
As he seeked the look of his brother and to the idea of university he had succumb
He decided to leave and head out on his quest
Leaving one of us back home now no one knew what to suggest
The fact is when you are all that close and then things suddenly change
The path that was once set before you forks and your goals fall out of range
However I kept my money on my mind and music was my dream
No longer a distant memory as people recognised me without the need for my team
When they travelled back home the pair of them after a four-year wait
Things had all changed I no longer even lived in the same estate
I had a girl, a house, and a steady job to hold down
Tough shit to swallow for the niggaz who were never around
See for them it was hard to visit me or pick up the phone
And I am a nigga with morals and I was used to being on my own
We tried to make things up by going out  him, his partner and me
But by now the damage was done it was no good you see
Because what was once can now never be
And to me it looked much better that the three were all going individually
We walk past each other these days in the street and give each other a glance
I hear the one who was into books lives in the south of France
And someone said that that green nigga lives in the posh end of  town
But true as ever my words must remain I was always the king they just borrowed the crown
