I agree...I can't really speak about the whole C-Walk situation since I'm not from LA, but my guess is...let's suppose that the West "comes back" and they start doing the Crip walk again in the videos...don't you think that they'll be immediately criticized for bringing gang culture in their videos, and maybe this can lead to the videos being banned (remember the Boo Yaa TRIBE incident earlier this year?) from TV.
True... with the short lived Westcoast comeback, the C-Walk became the thing to do on the dance floor when a Dre or Snoop song came on. With all the clown dancing and stuff, there are some westcoast beats that people can dance too, the only thing is that the artist are straight gangsta, so yeah it is about image. Can you picture someone dancing in an MC Eiht video. We'll see though, I can't see LA leaving the gangsta image. It's implanted in all of So. Cal. Basically it's like the NFL, fuck what the rest of the nation is doing. We like things the way they are, and if you don't and you want our market, you gotta switch up to us. Until then, we are happy staying on the sidelines waiting for you guys to come to us. It's LA mentality with everything.
You know the bay has the hifee dance. That shit is wild but they incorporate that shit in thier music too. So when the bay blows up , expect to see that in the videos.IE
