I just got into him pretty recently after listening to Mecca & The Soul Brother-whats his best solo album?

Soul Survivor.

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

The first Soul Survivor is the better of his two solo albums, but to be honest, just pick up anything with Pete Rock's name on it, can't really go wrong with anything he's released.

Would yall say The Main Ingredient>>>>Mecca and the Sould Brother?

I've heard it argued both ways, but i'd have to go with Mecca. When T.R.O.Y. dropped that was it for me.

i got no idea...

his true "solo" albums are just the soul survivor things, and the BBE cd..

the stuff with CL is the best out of the lot..  i'd go for Mecca over everything else.
2nd place is Main Ingredient,
3rd place INI
4th place the pete+cl "rare tracks" cd (this isnt the same as the 2cd thing, its lots of mecca/main ingredient b-sides remixes)  i had to get mine from japan

InI - Center of Attention is a great album. I suggest yall buy the underground soul classics if you want vintage pete rock.  I've listened to Deda just a little bit, but just because i'm not done with InI.  I think Deda's will be great production wise, but i've yet to form an opinion on his rhyming. I guess if Pete fucks with him, he's gotta have something though.
