Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth - They Reminisce Over You
Led Zeppelin - Stairway To Heaven
Curtis Mayfield - Move On Up
Marvin Gaye - Inner City Blues
Parliament - The Motor Booty Affair
Portishead - All Mine

Van Morrison - And It Stoned Me
David Bowie - Soul Love
Prince - When Doves Cry
John Lee Hooker & Van Morrison - Never Gonna Come Out Of These Blues Alive
Jimmie Vaughan - Hey Yeah
Stevie Ray Vaughan - Pride & Joy
Jimi Hendrix - Freedom
Eric Clapton - Cocaine
Ice-T - I'm Your Pusher
Peter Frampton - Show Me The Way (Live version)

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

I don't really have a list of favorites, because it changes everyday.

damn, this is a tough question.  I'll try to pick some some from various genre's...

IN NO ORDER:

1) Metallica - One
2) John Lennon - Watching the Wheels
3) Led Zepplin - The Rain Song
4) The Spinners - Could it be i'm falling in love
5) Dr. Dre - Deez Nuts
6) Gangstarr - Mass Appeal
7) Wham - Somebody tell me (yes you read that right)
8) Steely Dan - Kid Charlemagne
9) Red Hot Chili Peppers - Under the bridge
10) Stevie Wonder - My Cherie Amour

There is no way in hell that I could ever pick just 10 songs. I could do 10 more lists and argue that they would be in my top 10.

I don't know how I missed that song on my list.
