Rick Fox Officially Retires/Rudy Tomjanavich Excited To Coach The Lakers

Everyone knew Fox was retiring in the middle of last season, but he officially announced his retirement yesterday, because of foot and back injuries. Fox, who was traded to Boston along with Gary Payton for Chris Mihm, Chucky Atkins, and Jumain Jones, said he was unhappy about moving to Boston. Fox filed for divorce from Vanessa Williams 2 months ago. His agent says he will be pursuing his acting career.


In other news, Rudy Tomjanavich is very excited about coaching the Lakers. A long time fan of Bryant's game, he was quoted saying, "Hakeem and Clyde were amazing and professional. This guys on another level." Jordanesque? "Very much so," he said. Tomjanavich will not run the triangle offense - an up-tempo idea will be employed instead. Rudy likes his chances, "It's really a new era. Everything we start building is a positive," he said.


Damn...I'm excited. I really have faith in the Lakers, and am expecting them to do some damage. 8)

I'm glad Fox retired with some dignity, he was gonna be on the bench in Boston, and fuck going back there after being in LA for so long.
