i'm probably the only person in the world that likes the special editions more than the originals then huh?   the difference here though is that it's not AS obvious as the first special edition where you see the og film then on top of that some high tech special effects ....he blended them together well.

i always liked the special edition more too... he added and fixed sum special effects and i liked that

also does any1 kno if they added the deleted scenes?

I got the DVD's on Wednesday myself. Always liked Star Wars a lot, but haven't gotten into any other sci-fi. Probably 'cause Star Wars is much more fantasy & fairy-tale than sci-fi... But I liked the Special Editions as well. I don't really get what the fuss is about over the differences between the originals and the SEs though... It's not like the plot was altered or they did something totally ridiculous - like in E.T. where they edited the guns into walkie-talkies... ::) They just sort of polished up the effects. They still hadn't properly fixed Luke's lightsaber from the first movie though... I haven't watched Return of the Jedi on the DVD yet but I was pleasantly surprised that they had replaced the emperor from Empire Strikes Back with Ian McDiarmid, who played the part in all the other movies. It always bugged me about the earlier versions that the emperor looked and sounded different in one of the flicks, now they've fixed that. (Originally in Empire Strikes Back the emperor was actually played by an old woman with some face prosthetics, a man's voice dubbed over hers and chimpanzee eyes edited on to her face. Just a piece of trivia. ;))

i love men who take pictures with their booty's out

the thing is that I liked the old star wars movie, and I like like that. I like it when the effects look old. I like it how the style is. FUCK lucas for that shit, since he ruined the legacy with the new episodes I wanted him to get slapped, now I want him to die.

I wonder why this got released so DAMN late

george lucas had a contract with laser disc that star wars would be a laser disc exclusive.  But laser disc never blew up like they thought it would.

You know, I have never seen a Star Wars movie, it just does not interest me at all.

same here.  I remember when the OG ones were playin the movies again back in 96 or 97 an every1 had was going crazy over it.  so i saw the first one an since that i never had a urge to watch the other ones.
