The rapper and actor, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, tells The Wall Street Journal that his new image is part of "getting older." He says he is moving away from portraying a gangsta, dressing like a pimp and smoking marijuana. The 30-year-old rapper, who was High Times magazine's 2002 Stoner of the Year, says he is a father of three and people depend on him now. Snoop's most recent album, "Tha Last Meal" came out two years ago. And while it sold two million copies in the US, it was considered a disappointment. His 1993 release "Doggystyle" which sold 14 million copies. Snoop's current projects range from making porno movies to appearing on TV with the Muppets. In May, Snoop Dogg pleaded no contest to marijuana possession charges in Ohio, and received a $250 fine and a suspended 30-day jail sentence. He was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after his tour bus was stopped in nearby Amherst by the State Highway Patrol for speeding in Oct. 2001. -Big BpG
Gotta be worldwide if it is a fact, which I believe is not cause I always thought that it sold 5 million in the States (maybe 6 but doubt it was over 7)
yeah it wuz certified PLATINUM 5x way back in 95, so i think these numbers could be correct cuz i think it could've sold an additional 3 million in 7-8 years seeing how it is still of the most bought/popular rap albums, so i think those numbers are correct.
