What was everybody's first rap album? I bought mine in 1988 - Kid N Play "2 Hype". A few months later I bought Eazy-duz-it and my Mom threw it out!

First rap album I listened to was my older brothers Run DMC - Raising Hell tape.
The first album I bought myself was LL Cool J - Bigger And Deffer.

My brother bought me Snoop "Doggystyle" and Dr. Dre "The Chronic" for Christmas 93. I thought the Chronic was a duo album so I didn't understand why Snoop wasn't on the cover with Dre. I didn't really understand what the fuck was going on in these cd's. I was like, "why are these black people calling each other nigger." "Does Snoop really do drugs like that."
Then later all the nieghborhood kids wanted to come over and listen to the Snoop album like it was a comedy cd or something. Because I was one of the few kids that had it. By the time "Gin and Juice" came out in the spring I was bumpin "Doggystyle" 24-7. Snoop was my favorite rapper. I started buying anything he was on, even if it was just a few lines on a soundtrack.

First Rap albums I remember hearing are probably Too Short's "Life Is..", and Digital Undergrounds "Sex Packets".
First cd's I got for myself were probably MC Hammer "Can't Touch This"... I still remember alot of tha songs from this album.. not really though... and "Momma Said Knock You Out" by LL Cool J.

Eazy Duz It.. memorized back 2 front
then Ice-T OG
soon after... a tape with
straight outta compton and efil4zaggin + 100 miles and running
and another tape with an album by tragedy the intelligent hoodlum + some older UK stuff like "hijack"
i think i dubbed over it with some 'old skool' '91 era rave stuff
got too many tapes to dig thru :-/
other early stuff...
Freestyle Fellowship - Hot Potato
Cypress around the 'insane in the membrane' era
Doggystyle
New Kingdom - Heavy Load (really spaced out non-typical east coast stuff- never heard anything like em)
