xzibit has always been one of my fav rappers.i loved all his first 3 albums, restless is a classic imo.then came his experimental mvm, that was average at its best.
hearing his new street single Mothafucka and his official single Hey Now,i didnt have hihg hopes for x to that z.but it looks like his new crew SAS inflenced on him a lot...

01. State of the Union(Produced by Thayod Ausar) - nice lil intro

02. LAX(Produced by Sir Jinx & Mystro) - good to see xzibit and sir jinx doing stuff together again.different beat, kinda rock influenced.lyrics are dope, flow great as always.im loving the bridge before the chours. 4/5

03. Cold World(Produced by Jelly Rol) - Jelly Rol has a wierd style of producing.he has a hit or a miss.i always thought x and him are a good combination though.i was right.typical jelly roll beat.i love it.again dope lyrics form x.the chours is sung by jelly rol himself, its ok nothing special. 4/5

04. Saturday Night Live Feat. Jelly Roll(Produced by Jelly Roll) - another jelly rol production.a club banger.many people dont like it but my suggestion is:listen to this in the car.great funky beat, xzibits lyrics are so - so,his flow is dope though.krondon is on the hook, nice chours. 4/5

05. Muthafucka(Produced by Rick Rock) - i dont like this track at all.beat is average, chours is wierd, lyrcis are average.the whole song is some wierd shit.sounds like a mvm leftover 2/5

06. Beware of Us Feat. Strong Arm Steady(Produced by Khalil) - great track.introducing sas gang to the world.great beat from dj khalil.i never really checked him but he proved me i was worng.this is a str8 banger.never really liked krondon his lyrcis are nothing special, phil da agony rips it as always, xzibits verses are also good, couldve ve been better though.the xzibit chours is dope as fuck. 4,5/5

07. Judgement Day(Produced by Khalil) - again great ebat from Khalil.kinda dre influenced.great track.great concept.xzibit preaching.lyrics great as usuall.chours is maybe to rnb ish but i aint complaining.ah fuck it the chours is dope. 4/5

08. Criminal Set(Produced by Battlecat) - classic track!battlecat did it again.great ice cube sample in the chours.xzibit lyrics are the shit!nothing more to say about this track. 5/5

09. Hey Now (Mean Muggin) Feat. Keri Hilson(Produced by Timbaland) - im sure everybody knows this track by now.nice timbo beat.definetly made for the clubs.lyrics are average.song kinda grew on me.it bangs hard in the car. 3/5

10. Ride Or Die(Produced by Mr. Porter) - dark track.xzibit talking about gangstas.great porter production.its sad he didnt produce anyhting on eminems new album.but back to the song.lyrics are deep, dark.i love it. 4,5/5

11. Crazy Ho Feat. Strong Arm Steady,Butch Cassidy,Suga Free(Produced by Khalil) - holy shit.this is funky.great beat, yes again from khalil.butch cassidy hook is funny and dope as fuck.everybody talking bout hoes and stuff like that.only minus is no xzibit.yup wierd. 4/5

12. Big Barking(Skit by: Dee Ray) - dont rate skits

13. Tough Guy Feat. Busta Rhymes(Produced by Hi-Tek) - always liked this combo and i wasnt dissapointed.dope, kinda funny concept.hi tek never dissapoints me,this his typical beat.both busta and x rip it imo. 4/5

14. Scent of a Woman(Produced by Hi-Tek) - rnb influenced song.nothing special.for this type of song xzibits lyrics are surprisingly good. 3/5

15. Klack featuring Mitchy Slick(Produced by Khalil) - great track!klack klack klack.AGAIN great beat from khalil.the song is also talking about the west getting back his spot.both rip this track!mitchy's outro gives me chills everytime i listen to it 5/5

16. Back 2 The Way It Was(Produced by Thayod Ausar) - again rock influenced track.great concept.xzibit talking about bringing hip hop back 2 the way it was.aint that the truth! 3,5/5

so thats it.the only things missing are:a dre produced track, nate and snoop apperance, and of course tha liks.

4/5...and i like the fact that he didnt have the usual guest tracks. not everyone needs a dre track, snoop verse or a nate hook. It makes it more fresh and it helps newer cats to be put on.

Klack,Criminal Set,Cold World are the stand out tracks imo.

01.  State of the Union - no rating, but I love this intro, mainly 'cause I hate Bush.

02.  Lax - In my opinion, the stand out track of the album. I am loving this track. It's hard hitting and the sounds make me feel the war theme of the intro. Perfect to follow Bush's speech. 4.5/5

03.  Cold World - We calm it down a bit. A nice track taking about the cold world. It's something that the hook can relate to, and the beat is pretty tight. 4/5

04.  Saturday Night Live - People like this track, I was indifferent to it. It's got a banging beat though, and I can see this as a single. 3.5/5

05.  Muthafucka - I don't know why people hate on this song as much as they do. This sounds like some shit that was on Man vs. Machine, which was by no means a great album, but not that bad. 3/5

06.  Beware of Us - A nice rough song to put Strong Arm Steady to the game. The lyrics are cool, the beat is banging and Xzibit's hook fits well. 4/5

07.  Judgement Day - How can you knock this song, it's lyrics are just off the hook and the hook is nice, the beat is cool as fuck. I love this song. 4.5/5

08.  Criminal Set - OK, I said LAX is the stand out track, that's because when another track is great, you just have to overlook that track because it's a given. Criminal Set is worth the money alone. Too bad this song will never be a single, if Game has This Is How We Do, X should release this track. 5/5

09.  Hey Now (Mean Muggin) - The lead single, it's a good lead single and sounds like the lead single. 4/5

10.  Ride or Die - This is some streets shit, dark, production is almost like early Dre in that you hear something new everytime you hear it. This is a very wel done track. 4/5

11.  Crazy Ho - Oh shit, this is some funky stuff. Butch's hook is off the hook and Suga Free was need for a change up in this CD. I know Xzibit wrote some stuff on here, but where was he? 4/5

12.  Big Barking (Skit) - skit, I skip it... lol

13.  Tough Guy - I have no clue why this sounds more like it's a Busta Rhyme song than an Xzibit song. Anyways, I enjoy them together, and this shit is pretty tight. 3.5/5

14.  Scent of a Woman - OK, maybe it's my age, maybe it's because I was able to relate to this song with a few ex-girlfriends, but this is a very nice track to me. I repeat this track, and I have no shame. 4.5/5

15.  Klack - The west needs to comeback, this is a song to prove it. X holds it down. 4.5/5

16.  Back 2 the Way It Was - Most people put there best songs in the front of the CD, Xzibit puts 3 nice songs at the back, interesting. This song is a banger, the lyrics are nice and I think the guitars are a great added touch to the beat. 4.5/5

Overall, 4/5. I really think this is a good start to the new Xzibit, minus the Dre beats, Nate Dogg hooks and Snoop verses. It's time for Xzibit to come into his own, and if he can release another good CD next year, he can take over the west.
