Kurupt wrote Dr. Dre's verse on "Chin Check"
« on: January 05, 2005, 03:49:36 PM »
I don't know if ya'll knew, but I just peeped the credits on the Next Friday OST booklet, and Kurupt's name ( R. Brown ) is listed in the credits for writing N.W.A.'s "Chin Check". More than likely, this means he wrote Dre's verses for him. Listening to them, they definitely sound like Kurupt laced them,

"A pencil, a pen, or a glock
Im the original, subliminal, subterranium
Titianium, criminal minded, swift
D-R-E with that fuck a bitch shit (fuck a biatch)
A couple o' notes and get you hog-tied in rope
Dope like tons of coke, cutthroat
You don't want the pistols to whistle
Candy paint impala
I make hoes pop collars"

I love this track, in my opinion better, not by too much, but better than Hello.

yea, I heard somewhere that both Chin Check and Hello were gonna be on Chronic 2001, but I guess Dre saved them for later. The tracks were recorded within the same sessions, in like mid '99 or so.

The verse seems like Kurupt's style, look at the multi-syllables used.

yeah Lazy's right, in Dre's verse, I'm almost 100% sure that it's Kurupt that says "cutthroat" after Dre spits the line 'dope like tons of coke'.
