Best album of 2004
« on: January 11, 2005, 11:36:11 AM »
R-Mean. Aiiight, goto the hookup section to download some of R-Mean's songs from the seld titlded album/mixtape. The guy is fuckin sick! He's got unique wordplay, a dope flow/voice, and the production is fuckin fire. IMO this shit is better than anything else that came out in 2004. I was gonna upload the whole album, but i'm not gonna do that cuz ya'll should go out and support R-Mean.

Mos Def - The New Danger

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

And you know they'll never stop the furious force of my rhymes
So like they say, every dog has it's day
And like they say, God works in a mysterious way
So I pray, remembering the days of my youth
As I prepare to meet my moment of truth"
