I have bought nearly 300 westcoast rap albums.  sorry, but rap is not a priority to me anymore.  I need to put my money in better places.  I won't be buying any albums anytime soon.  but I have done well beyond my share of supporting the westcoast.  Besides the 300 westcoast albums I own, I have countless times introduced rappers to other people, been to concerts, been a part of message boards, etc. 

Honestly 5% or less of albums in the last 5 years have really impressed me, and gotten more than a week's worth of listen from me.  not to say that they don't blow away the other shit in the industry, but on the whole, I would say rap music is very weak right now.

doesnt matter who buys what, who checks out what, if the label wants the west to blow up they'll promote more ...

Game is a prime example. if Death Row put as much money and effort into pushing Crooked I last year or the year before, he would of been where Game is right now...

but Death Row cant afford as much as Aftermath, Shady, Interscope so Crooked I falls off the map and out of fans minds whilst Game comes and will probably sell a couple million.

i really dont think music sells the West Coast, thats not what will make it comes back, the labels need to put the money behind new West Coast acts. Look at Xzibit, was WOMD promoted as much as his previous two albums? ... it is just as good if not better than Man V Machine yet sold thousands less ...
