Netherlands / Deventer:

Well, after all, what I first heard was true... They first told me it'd be available on the 14th, but then they told me it'd be about a week late, available on the 20th or 21st of Jan. And there it is... They'll FINALLY have things in stock tomorrow for God's sake. And yet I have no clue whether they'll have collectors editions or default cd's, but it SHOULD be up and running by tomorrow. From what I've heard from the record store owners, they're shipping it big time because they're expecting Game to blow up quite big, even in Holland with no promotion after all. It's somehow weird though, the biggest record store "Free Record Shop" can't tell me shit about the cd, it's not even on their list of release dates. Thank God there's some smaller record stores who do know what the fuck's going on.

From downtown Boston:

It's colder here than in NYC... trust me.

At lunch at about Noon or so, I went out in the 8 degree weather... yes I said EIGHT DEGREES... and picked up my copy (Compton Collectors Edition) at the record store (called Strawberries).  They've had a big ass poster of the CD cover and release date on their window for about a week now.  It's the only poster on their window and it's big... you can't miss it.  I walk in and it's the first CD you see on the rack.  The two versions side by side.  I pick it up and wait in line.  I'm the 3rd one in line.  The two in front of me both purchased the CD.  So three sales while I was in the store.

About an hour later, I had to run to the mall to buy an iPod.  I stop by the Best Buy and they have a shit load of copies and it was front and center as you walk into the store.

Later in the day I had to run to the Verizon Wirless store down the street to pick up a cell phone and while I'm waiting, I'm reading the booklet.  As I go to pay, I had to put down the booklet on the counter, and dude immediately says, "that's a hot record right there."

So I'm sure The Documentary is doing big numbers.

I really like the album... I think it's tight.  The lyrics are straight westcoast.  The West is repped to the fullest.  Big ass "COMPTON" across the back cover!  The beats are nice!  The album is tight... period.

Peace   8)

logged onto MIRC about two weeks ago and downloaded it.  its been on my harddrive ever since.  I gave it one listen, it was cool, don't see myself really playing it much again.
