Is the west really gonna come back? Maybe so.....but.....

Alright....even though this album hasn't even returned it's first week sales yet, we all know it is going to be a big success, so let's just start this arguement/discussion as if it has already done a lotta damage. So next step.......

This is how I see things right now. I will admit that I really didn't think Game was gonna do THIS good, especially the first week. Not only that, but I didn't ever think I'd see people on TV from Brooklyn wearin Compton shirts, and people down south sayin "The west is back" after just one album, but hey, that's what exceptional promotion does for you.

So since the new foundation has been laid, there are 100s of different things that could happen from here. Some people have said, "Game might be successful, but only because he's with G-Unit and sounds east coast and has a great album. That doesn't mean anybody else from the west to come behind him is going to be successful" and that is one statement I don't agree with 100% but I definitely see what they mean. That is probably my biggest fear about the direction the west is going.

However, from what I see, most major labels have at least one west coast artists signed right now, and I have a strong strong feeling that they will be released and promoted, all depending on the success of Game. Since he's successful, I think these artists really are gonna come out, and this is the next step to the west comin back. Not only has this been goin on, but many artists from other regions have been puttin us on their albums...Daz on TI, Suga Free Cube Snoop on Lil Jon, and Quik on Ludacris. That there alone has put some buzz into other regions ears, so they know what's up.

So from here on out, I really do see us makin a return. To what level? I really can't call it yet. I want to see more than just west coast artists back in the spotlight, but I want to see the emergence of a NEW west coast sound. Meaning, 3-4 "Game clones" won't do. I don't want the next few artists to model game's success and sound east coast and rap to East Coast beats. I want to see songs like Sly Boogy "That's my name" on 106 and park, and this might just happen if the record companies give it a chance.

What do you all think will happen, and bein realistic as u can, what do you want to happen from here on out?

Game kicked in the door and is the first rapper other than snoop & dre from the westcoast to get a crazy buzz in NY and have people accept him in NY.  alot of westcoast dumbass' are mad that he does that but i see it as You gotta do certain shit to have people accept u from all over the country if you are not dre or snoop.

Game is brining the spotlight back and he deserves credit for that.hopefully people in NY are gonna start excepting sly boogy and the rest of the hot spitters coming out now BUT in order for an entire coast to comeback u have to have a GANG of albums droping around the same time from the west.  the same way the south came up. alot of southern albums droped around the same time and thats what established them. noticed how they dominated 2003 & 2004.

westcoast gets 1 major album a year on the mainstream level. thats not gonna cut it.

in 2000 we had the chronic 2001, tha last meal, restless & Ice cube all which did really good and was a good yr for the west. we were getting played & had the Up in Smoke Tour but everyone knows what happen after that.  it went downhill.

we need all these guys are signed to a MAJOR label like Sly Boggy, Snoop, Xzibit, Dre, Daz,WSC, The Game, Ras Kass(hopefully), Dj Quik spitfyah all to drop around the same time in order to make alot of noise & flood the radio and to bring the coast back

Thas whas up. I think it will take one more to do some major damage, not as much as Game, but at least at a Lloyd Banks level, to make people really say damn the west does have some heat. I think Game did his part by droppin a hot ass album...I honestly think that if the west can get a single that is at a "Lean Back" "Drop it like its hot" or classic ass "Gin n Juice" level, and it's by a brand new west coast artist that only we know about now, I think that will be the day I can honestly say...THE WEST IS BACK!

Hopefully the summer track this year can be a west coast track.
