I agree. And I'm sure the team there know it only too well.

I think XXL helped ... I'm sure that Aftermath cover brought Game to a lot of people.

But also, the game has changed to the point where a magazine doesn't matter like it once did. Game blazed mixtapes something chronic ( ) and reached out to fans on the net. Print is such a small way of getting the message out these days.

The internet does a LOT more than any newspapers or magazines can do when it comes to people our age. Magazines take 2-3 months to get info in them, when we can go online and find out who got shot 5 minutes after it happened.

I think he did prove the Source irrelevant.  He's the hottest artist out now and the Source didn't cover him AT ALL.  G-Unit, Eminem, 50 Cent, Game is hot right now and soon enough Busta Rhymes will drop his shit (hopefully) and Aftermath will be puttin' out some shit again.  The Source won't cover any of that since it's Aftermath/Eminem related, so they'll miss out again.  Fuck the Source, although it would be interesting to see how they would rate Game's album.

yeah but VIBE magazine hasnt been relevant for like 8 YEARS homie since like the Death Row Era and they last benefited from Pac's and Bigs death, and Bad Boy' rise, Vibe magazine was what he went to with his first SOLO cover but i guess i see what your saying about The Game being on XXL and having the succes he did but dont u think it had alot to do with Dr.Dre actually being on the cover too! i mean when he comes out of his house people take him serious thats why 50 did so well IMO the last Dre cover was with Em&50 right before 50's album came out...look at his success

The Source has disrespected hip-hop music.  They have put one man, Ray Bezino, above journalistic, music, and artist integrity.  The Source has a job, and they owe it to hip-hop fans to cover hip-hop culture with sincerity, and they have pissed on all that for just one man, Ray Bezino.

I used to love the Source.  Now it's just a soft porn magazine that abases black women.
