In that same article I read about the Family Affair beat, Mike Elizondo talked about how "In Da Club" was indeed intended for another project, believe it or not, he said they were considering it for D12. But it was passed up, then they started polishing it up as a potential Detox track, along with "If I Can't". Then when 50 Cent came on board, Dre gave 50 what he gave him. You could kinda tell that "In Da Club" could've been for Rakim at one point, I always make comparisons to that beat and "The Watcher II", because of that James Bond-like guitar play mixed in.
