When I was in college, I was a rower for several years, and we actually adopted Crip dress code on the crew team.  We were "Colby Crew" (that was the college), so we flashed two Cs' to each other to rep our team.  Furthermore, at many meets, we always wore our blue bandanas, sometimes in the left pocket, otherwise on our face like Adidas does.  And we called each other "cuzz" and everything like that.  Of course, then the C-walk became popular around that time and there was a backlash over that, and we kinda got caught up in it.  One of the deans complained after we were all photographed at a regatta wearing our Crip stuff, so we weren't allowed to do it after that.
