On The Edge of Insanity

I got in the venue about ten past eight, just catching the end of Flipside's set. Looked pretty interesting mix of rapping and rock guitars, and they seemed to have got the crowd pretty hyped up. Between them and the Game, its was pretty much all reggae music that was played by the DJ.

Quik came out on stage, to setup his decks ready for The Game, and about ten minutes later Game came out on stage to "Westside Story", at the end of the track he bigged up Dre, Eminem and DJ Quik, and then said that it was time to swap over with Quik and become DJ Game. They swapped roles, and Quik performed "Dollaz N Sense", while Game played the role of DJ. Unforunately, that was all we saw of Quik rapping though, and after that song they switched back and Game did the rest of his set, ending with "How We Do" and the rather tiresome, blah blah blah can suck my dick routine. Overall though, he was actually not that bad, staying on beat, and sounding pretty much the same as on the album.

After, another ten-fifteen minutes, the curtain raised up to reveal DJ Jam, the Snoopdelics and Soopafly on stage. DJ Jam asked if we were ready for Snoop whilst "The Boss Would Like To See You" was played in the background. Snoop came out on stage smoking some weed, took the cheers of the crowd, and then passed the joint to Soopafly before going into "Murder Was The Case". He then did "Tha Shiznit", followed by "Down For My Niggaz" and his verse from the "P.I.M.P" remix. The crowd was already pretty pumped from this opening, and then Snoop took off his jacket to reveal an England football shirt with Snoop Dogg number 5 on the back. The crowd when mad, and then he asked if we wanted to hear some of that classic Snoop Dogg shit. Everyone cheered and he went into "Deep Cover" followed by "Nuthin But A G Thang", from that point onwards, he went through the majority of Doggystyle, his "Smoke Weed, Get Drunk, and Fuck" chant, "Bitch Please", "The Next Episode", "Beautiful" and "Lets Get Blown", all accompanied by Uncle Junebuggs pimped out dancing. One of the funniest parts of the show came when he tried to get the "the roof, the roof, the roof is on fire" chant going, because loads of people kept just repeating what he was saying instead of doing the "we don't need no water let that muthafucker burn" part. Snoop found this really amusing, and even changing it to "the roach, the roach, the roach is on the wall" still didn't help matters, as loads of people still just kept repeating what he was saying. Near the end of the show, Snoop said that he did one song to do that he knew everyone had been waiting to hear, and that he needed to bring out his nephew on stage to help him perform it. The beat to "Drop It Like Its Hot" dropped, and Pharell came out on stage to mass cheers (mainly from the women it must be said). They did that song together, and then to close Snoop did "Who Am I? (Whats My Name)" which everyone was bouncing to, and was a great way to finish a great night.

Overall, I have to say that this concert was so much more than it was expecting. I was expecting to be subjected to some R&G album tracks, but the fact that he for the main part did Doggystyle tracks inspersed with some of his more famous recent singles, meant that it was an almost perfect gig. I think he saw the love that the UK seems to have for him, and hopefully it won't be too much longer before hes back over here for another concert.

I was really pleased how everyone got so hyped when he did dollaz n sense, he held it down well. game's set was good but nothing really stood out about it.

snoop and the sonopadelics put on a great show, its so much nicer to hear tracks done with a live band, i can't wait for a live album to come out.

iraq would just get annexed by iran

That would be a great solution.  If Iran and the majority of Iraqi's are pleased with it, then why shouldn't they do it?

Yeah it was dope that Quik got a good reception. I knew he was going to do that track cause you could hear him scratching the ting noise thats just before the beat drops as he and Game were switching over.

I went to Nottingham. It was crazy Game had kinda lost his voice though. And Snoop, Game and Quik all did freestyles. Pharrell wasn't there though.

On the last song, Who Am I?, he got a bottle thrown in his face by some cock. So didn't finish that song.

My highlight was him doing Ain't No Fun and Lodi Dodi.
