Snoop Concert, AftershowParty in Frankfurt - Review
« on: February 23, 2005, 05:27:34 PM »
No Flipside, Game opened the show. He did 2-3 Songs from his Album (Dreams was one of them). He did a few different Anthems: Fuck this Fuck that...
im not 100% sure, but i think i didnt hear him saying anything about Jay-Z...
i recognized he changed the lyrics of DREAMs a little bit: he didnt say 'i watched a dynasty die" or wahtever he says normally in DREAMS, he said 'Death Row died'
overall - whack performance... waaay to short, he did more anthems than songs (in minutes)..
but the crowd didnt know his music, so thats probably why did only 2 songs and took way more time to prepare the crowd for snoop

snoop: solid performance, did a lot of doggystyle, where most ppl couldnt sing/rap the lines with him... iE: lodi dodi - almost noone knew the lyrics of that track... pretty funny
and he did a VERY few new things... from his new album: 1-2 songs? crazy... b/c its actually the official R&G tour hes doing... but good for me 8)

Quik didnt rap  :'(
he djed for game and played the picolo drums (or whatever theyre called) during the whole show
he was really trying to have some fun, but i spend a lot of my attention to him, and was recognizing that almost nothing of his action came trough
i guess he didnt have a mic at the drums or someone put it reeeeeeeal quite... i dunno,
but it seemed that he wanted to stay on stage and thats why he was there as a band member - it was a sad picture for me :(
snoop introduced everyone on stage and forgot about quik...

45€, more or less wasted :(
maybe less, we'll see =)

alright, high as motherfucker, we tried to get our ass as fast as possible to Club Cookys, where the after-party was
we got excelent seats at the bar, where everybody had to pass by when he wanted to get to the VIP-tables (only 2 big ones)
game arrived first, even though i shook hands with him, his bodyguards wasnt happy about it - looking very grimmy (at me) lol
but it was funny to see that nobody seemed to recognize Game even though he was trying to play _THE_ big man, that hard - he was acting like he already achieved what pac achieved in his short lifetime - RIP

then a few members of the band arrived, i got the chance to talk to the keyboarder, then got into touch with Dj Jam, we talked a little

then game finally went to the hotel, his black wall street huge and grimmy looking bodyguards made the table 'open' again
and who did they leave behind?

soopafly and the dancers (at the 'game' table, jam and some other guys at the other table)
i smoked a joint with him, talked a little, asked him about quik - if hes coming or not, etc
i was so drunken and high that i talked to most of the "snoop bend" (? - thats how snoop introduced his female dancers) - even to that one girl that didnt speak english or german, that's at least what she said ^^
and finally i woke up with the one called 'Becky' at my friend's place (since i dont live in frankfurt)
soopafly also left with one of the dancers, and jam... yea, at about 4oclock he was definately searching (cause soopa and a few band-members left) but dont know for sure if he made it in time ;D

wow - that's all i can say

so

over all:
soopafly is a real cool dude, he looked waaay skinnier than i recognized him from some pictures
game seems to be arrogant plus hes thinking and saying hes the new king of the westcoast (screamed it into the micduring an anthem)
i was having headaches whole day (today, wednesday) b/c me and my friend, we spent slightly above 100€ at the club, plus a few joints  :-X
i had a fucking incredible night/morning, even though the concert itself was pretty disappointing to me
(but if i wouldnt have been there, i wouldnt have recognized the keyboarder, through whom i got into contact with most of them guys including that hot girl,
yea, i wouldnt have even known where the afterparty was.. :( )
so thx god that everything (but meeting and seeing perform: mr. dj quik) did work out so fine

final conclusion: quik deserves better!

2nd final conclusion ;): if it wasnt that expensive i might imagine doing this every week at least once ;D

PS: dont know hows interested in this news, but jam told me that there will be a snoop and jigga colabo on his website: http://www.djjam.com
but i dont know its a real colabo or just a DJ-Remix-thing...
but it made me think if that might be the cause why he was keeping jay-z's name out of his mouth this night..
and its not on his website yet btw. but will probably come during the days.. we'll see

cool, you already heard it
was it only a DJ-remix or a remix production wise?
