even though i doubt it´s gonna be good, i think some of you are being too negative on this

smartass, if he´s not capable of making good music anymore then why not switch to writing books? Let the man do what he wants to, he´s not obliged to please fans with his music

Shallow, don´t be too biased, though i admit i wouldn´t be surprised about a ineloquently written second-rate crime story with a few predictable attempts to sound profound, which all the Infinites in the world will be incredibly impressed by and go on about how ´deep´ it is either. nevertheless, it could be good, you never know. also, i think it´s a bit too simple to say that 1. all books with an obvious appeal are the less interesting ones only preferred by unexperienced readers and that 2. almost nobody reads books anymore. Movies cannot replace books and vice versa. And there´s great books that i guess even newbie readers would enjoy and that are still great writing...take "Catch 22" for example, the book is amazing from any critic´s perspective and very entertaining to read at the same time.

I do not know that this book will be bad, I'm just predicting it will. I never meant to imply that no good, deep, books can entertain new readers. I can however see, from re-reading my post, why you'd think I was implying that. What I meant was that new readers take entertaing books with no essence behing them and place them above far superior classics and later realize their mistake after becoming more experienced readers. However new readers can still be moved by a good entertaining book and look back and still appreciate it as experienced readers.

Movies have replaced books as the number one form of entertainment. Which is better is up to the reader of film watcher, but you cannot deny that the popularity of movies is what the popularity of books once was, more or less. No current author is as highly regarded as the greats of the the past generations, but many directors of the past few generations do get that prestige. I strongly feel that someone like Charles Dickens, with his mind, and ability to tell a story, would be making films if he were of this generation.
