Barry Bonds* needs to retire already. This was the Giants best year before they go completely downhill...looks like the downhill road will start in 2005. and the dodgers are about to go on complete NL West dominance until another GM comes up with the perfect plan from the NL West
NL west is nothing. Bonds has had his entire career crumpled up and thrown into the garbage this past month. MLB has spit upon his name with these lawsuits i can understand his stress and depression

Hey I'm a Dodger fan but the GM of the Dodgers Paul D is an complete idoit who has made some of the dumbest moves in the history of sports. The Dodgers aren't going anywhere until they get a GM who knows what he is doing and doesn't base oa move on the fact that his buddy Billy Bean might give him a pat on the back. The Giants are still go enough to win the NL West (this is coming from Peter Gammons) & the Padres are also better than the Dodgers.

The giants are not still good enough to win the division. Lets look at them position by positionC- Mike Matheny vs Jason Phillips. Matheny is just a solid defensive catcher with no offense at all. Jason Phillips has had one very good rookie year and one horrible year(still better than Matheny) expect for Phillips to have a year thats in between 03 and 04. Advantage Dodgers1B- JT Snow vs Choi. Seems to me that Snow juiced up last year all of a sudden he put up huge numbers in his late 30s...Choi has shown brilliance in the major leauge level but has not been consistent either cuz of an injury or a change of teams in the middle of the season. ADvantage Giants.2B Ray Dhuram vs Jeff Kent. Now Durham is the Giants best position player without Bonds on the team, and even with that title Jeff Kent is better than him. Advantage DodgersSS- Omar Vizquel vs Izturis. unless Izturis still improves from last year this should be equal. Equal3b- Edgardo Alfonzo vs Valentin/Nakamura. Equal again....Alfonzo though good has lost power year by year and Valentin just came from bombing 30. EqualLF- Giants backup OF vs Werth. Wether its Tucker or another Giant hes not going to be better than Werth, or even our backup Ledee Advantage DodgersCF- Grissom vs Bradley- one is declining and the other is improing yeat by year. Advantage DodgersRF- Alou vs JD Drew- Alou's road stats last year were a joke, Wrigley field helped him A LOT. Advantage DodgersStarting Pitchers- Advantage DodgersBullpen- Advantage DodgersBench- Advantage Dodgersand what the fuck was so wrong bout the trades Depodesta has done? It wasnt his fault Penny got injured or that Choi got into a slump due to the fact that he was trying to impress the hell out of everybody. Lo Duca is getting paid 6-7 million ayear for the next 3years to be a declining Catcher YESS GOOD LUCK FLORIDA! On the other hand we have Phillips who can produce, Navarro and Martin in the wings to be our fututre Catcher for a good number of years.
Fact.Brazobans ERA in the final months of the season 2.20.Mota's ERA after the trade 4.81Brazoban a cheaper and younger option. Ill take Brazoban over Mota. The dodgers just ended up losing one game after taking the lead in in the final 3 innings. only one...that was before Brazoban got called up and DReiffort was begging to get injured.Penny didnt just pitch 2 innings, his first start was 8 innings , 2 infield hits given up and no runs. Wins Losses has nothing to do with the way a pitcher should be evaluated. Penny was the Marlins secondbest pitcher at the time ofthe trade with an ERA of 3.15!!! Its not his fault he didnt have good enough run support to win more.Derek Lowe, yes overpaid but what other FA pitcher wasnt? hes moving from a stadium where doubles are given up at the highest rate to Dodger Stadium a stadium where doubles are giving up at the lowest rate. Even with the horrible year he had last year he still only gave up 13 Home runs...expect him to do muuuuuuch better. An Era of under 4.25 Odalis Perez is a very good pitcher that is underrated tjat can give you an ERA of under 4, Weaver a pitcher that posted up an ERA Of 4.00. and Erickson/Alvarez/Dessens can all post up better numbers thanwhat Ishii will put up.Drew is not overpaid. Drew's win shares of last year was 34, Beltres was 36. If healthy is worth the money. This is a guy who can give you a 300BA, 400OBP, and a 500SLG. Thats excellent.Traded Green for nothing? Dioner Navarro is a very good catching prospect and might be ready in 2006.If Lo Duca, Mota, and Encarnacion would have stayed with the team that means...-No Werth-Not being able to resign Odalis-Not Being able to Sign Derek Lowe-Prolly piss off Gagne for trying to offer a lower deal for him-looking at a rotation of...1. Weaver2. Nomo3. Ishii4. Alvarez5. LimaPotentially could have been one of the worse rotations in baseball
give J.D. Drew a $55 million contract. I mean if you had a problem with what Lo Duca is making than how can you not have a problem with the contract for Drew?
