At this current moment....Storch!, Dre aint be givin' us (the OLDier cats) the original gangsta beats, nemore! listen to the chronic, doggystle, Em's first 2 albums, the nwa stuff, the firm etc... Man those beats were sick! i mean when u heard them u be like "That a Dre beat!" but now when u hear new dre stuff u be like, not sure if dre did the beat! (The original Aftermath production team of Flossy P, Budda, Glove, and Stu-B-Doo, were sick! )
-PEACE-
Dre Does the most part of the beat and has his touch which made the beat better. If it wasn't the case tell me why a Dre beat (with a co-producer) sounds better than Storch solo beat. Same thing for Mel Man.

Storch is better he can make a beat by himself

I agrre with u man...I am the biggest fan of dre..but i have to say this...scott is the best producer in rap game today and he will be a legend in future...a lot of dre beat produced by scott, like "X" "Let Me Blow Yo Mind" "Poppin Them Thangs" and so many...i think produce means produce new melodies and playing them with keyboards, than u can add bass and drums, so u produced a new song...scott producing new melodies with keyboard for dre, mike playing bass and making drums for dre, than dre get them and mixin...the most important thing in a beat is melody and Scott doin this for dre and himself..."DRE IS A LEGEND(no.1),SCOTT IS A NOMINIE TO BE A LEGEND"

don't think so. dre was in this  game since 21 years and had a huge impact on this hip hop shit. Nowadays hip hop is nearly dead so how Scott can become a legend ? in making club hits ? Hell no. Don't get me wrong Scott has talent but I feelin more Elizondo or Focus

DRE is the biggest name in rap history...We cant compare him with anybody...But nowadays dre is using talent producers to produce songs for him, right?Bud'da, Mel-Man, Mike Elizondo,Scott Storch, Focus is the producers who influenced by dre...especially scott had similer style with dre when he was in roots, tahn dre realized him and start to use him for keyboards...now dre using him as co-producer,dre always using co-producers today...but scott doin similer songs without dre...so we can say scott better than dre to make a beat,....nowadays dre isn't a producer he is a mixer, right?

dre is obviously my choice

BUT...i think as of recently, storch is making a lot of the beats that sound like dre and people want to hear

storch is keepin the 2001 dre beats alive, while dre is trying different stuff....i wasn't really impressed with dres work on 50's new album, but he did do a good job on The Game cd...

Scott Storch is developing into a seriously ill producer, but his major flaw is that alot of his beats sound the same. It's one thing to shape up a specific sound, but Storch has been really lazy in terms of creativity. "Lean Back", "Candy Shop" and "U Make Me Wanna" all sound like they were recorded in the same session...still, top notch beats. The shit he did for Beyonce was tight, but still...he works alot better side by side with Dre. For example, "Poppin' Them Thangs" and "Time's Up" are closely related in terms of sound, but Poppin' Them Thangs is hella sicker, cuz Dre's got untouchable drums and he knows how to mix in the right ingredients. Dre's a legendary producer, Scott Storch....not yet, but he's got potential. Imo, Dre + Storch = fire...G'd Up, In Da Hood, Still D.R.E., Start From Scratch, Westside Story...the list goes on, they work dope together...but Doc Dre's better  ;D

I love Scott Storch, and he has learned a lot from Dre ever since he was recruited as a keyboardist for 2001.  He was there with Dre when he created that new sound so it is only makin sense he took his learnings and started producin and makin melodies in the same style as Dre.  I really think it is beautiful, it's kind of the same thing with Eminem, Mel-Man, Focus and Mike Elizondo.

A big reason I think Storch is somewhat overrated. Throw the beat he did for Fab in there...they all more club-like beats. It really gets tiresome if ya ask me. Dre still bringin' bangers though with "Higher" and the title track "Encore". Storch is nice at the minute, but Dre is a living legend. Period.
