« on: April 09, 2005, 11:03:52 AM »
Tha Eastsidaz
Tha Eastsidaz: DnT
Doggy's Angels
Bad Azz

Production From: Battlecat, Meech Wells, Jelly Roll, Fred Wreck

there was a continous style throughout all of those albums. Personally I loved it.

Kokane, Suga Free... damn, it was PIEAMP!

Honestly, this was the best era for westcoast rap after are stunt from 1992-1996

Legendary my ass...I mean, you're right: there was a continuous style throughout all of those albums, that's a fact, but that's basically it. Snoop didn't take care of his artists the way a CEO is supposed to. But you could see that coming from a mile away...it wasn't really a surprise. When a CEO is the biggest artist on his own label, you can be sure that all the focus will be on himself, and not on the other artists.

It even surprises me that they even managed to release that Bad Azz album!

No hate though...Snoop just tried something out, but it didn't work out the way he wanted it to.
A CEO should focus on his business. A rapper should focus on his music. And I can imagine it's difficult as hell to combine both perfectly...

No way was it a legendary label. It had potential, but nothing came out of it except for a few good albums.

The label had great potential which was not fulfilled

yep agree with u. plus I think some rappers aren't able to run a label or to launch new artists (Nas, Snoop) whrereas others are (50 is a good example) . I think it's about personnality or  business, marketing skills

That first Eastsidaz CD was a great album. Far from classic - too long for a start - but great.

As for the others - nothing special. How can you have a legendary label with just one high quality release?
