I'm sorry but that sht is weak as hell.  I'm disappointed and disgusted. These guys gotta get outta the game and make way for the next generation.  All respex to Dogg Pound, I still bump their good stuff from when they SOLD records.  But now they r done.  I'm tired of the same old sound being done n2 the ground.  Embrace new sounds and styles comin' out and that is the way to resurrect the west coast.

It's like Warren G.  He still believes he's got it.  He's done.  He isn't putting the work in or burned out or something or doesn't have the help he just once did.  Be real.  U had ur time and move on.

Now this hurts me cuz I luv what these guys did, but now they need to work on helping breathe new life n2 the west coast rather than let ego and greed reign for a few quick fux thus sucking the life back outta of it again.  Every 3 years they try and bring the west coast back.  Now Game is moving sht.  So do it right this time.

WEST COAST NEXT GENERATION:  MOVE THE FK ON

COMING UUUUUUUP

Thank u my man and for your respectful disagreement.  Believe me I would like to be wrong.  I hope they churn out some classic trax.  I'm just heavily feelin' new life and sounds.  Not the same old sht.

I just don't see the reason why everyone is pushing for retirement. Rock bands still do music until they are 50 (Stones, Kiss, McCartney). If they try to get deals, and they fail, what really does it hurt. Nothing is wrong with releasing music for the underground. If they get deals, and the music is tight, what different are they doing from Dre, Ice Cube, Snoop, and Tray Deee (Eastsidaz, not wack ass solo)? Besides, I'd much rather have a DPG or Warren CD than hear some Fabolous or Nelly track.

You just have to support the new artists more. Frontline, Crooked I, Sly Boogy are all hot and should be looked at as the next biggest thing, but nothing is wrong with getting music from established artists.

Exactly... this is their JOB... they need to make music... it won't be the same, but they need to mature and make music that we can enjoy as we get older... right now, rap is a young audience, but the fans are growing up...their music needs to grow up too...

i think that the westcoast has a lot of artists that got the capacity to evolve, like DPG, Daz made a lot of album with his untouchable sound but always fresh, like Dj Quik..a new generation of westcoast rappers will be there when we'll have more than 3-4 options (i remember to everybody that Crooked was on Tha Streetz Iz A Mutha..not so a rookie)..time will reveal.

To each his own. I'm not a huge Tray Deee fan, but my neighbor is and he doesn't even like the solo. If you like it, that's your opinion.

If you don't like the DPGs and veterans NOW, just don't listen to them. I'd rather get a new Warren G, Dogg Pound or DJ Quik than ANY newcomer's album. But I'm not like "I don't like Game, he needs to quit, labels need to stop putting out his albums". Every album is welcomed and appreciated; let them all take a chance - then it's your work to choose what better suits your tastes. And understand that not everybody likes the same stuff. It seems obvious, but most people don't really UNDERSTAND it.

About the vets needing to quit to make room for the youngsters... I don't see it like that. Vets don't need to stop holding the spotlight for the young talents to shine... newcomers need to STEP UP AND TAKE IT! If the spotlight is still on the same people it was ten years ago it's cause it's what the listeners wanna hear and there's no new generation yet. There might be one, two, five... young talented MCs, but not a generation to take over.

And who are you (or anybody) to tell any artist when to retire? Would you retire at 35 years old and stop making money? Let them do what they gotta do. It might be that easy to you, you step in a record store, listen a new Warren G album, don't like it and say "this guy's done, he needs to retire"... man, I'd fucking sell half my albums for a new Warren G CD. Plus it's his (the artist's) LIFE. It's what he likes to do, it's how he earns his money. How can you step up to him and say: "Look, I don't like your albums anymore. Retire. Now".

REMEMBER THAT NOT EVERYONE HAS THE SAME TASTES. IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, DON'T BUT IT. THERE AIN'T ANYTHING EASIER THAN THAT.

Why should they retire? They should just back working on Daz's independent label DPG Recordz. As long as they dont steal the spotlight to other young rappers signing with Doggystyle Rec., or Aftermath, etc.. i'm happy with them making music for the next 30 years.
