M.O.P. UNIT?

M.O.P. UNIT?

Last week, we reported that M.O.P. is planning on putting an album out through KOCH sometime this summer after getting the cold shoulder from Roc-A-Fella for so many months. That album should follow through on the Marxmen mixtape theme that their last release followed, but another interesting story is floating around these days concerning M.O.P. and the G-Unit. Apparently, reports are saying that 50 could be interested in inking M.O.P. to a deal and bolstering his unit further. And, if anyone could market and properly put out a group quickly and efficiently these days, 50 Cent is probably the man for the job. However, another rumor is also circulating the 'net claiming that Guerilla Black may also be a potential candidate for a spot in the G-Unit. A freestyle has leaked to the Web with Guerilla addressing the situation, though this seems much less likely being that fellow Compton rapper Game has not shown much of a fondness for the heavy-set Guerilla. Stick around for more news concerning who could be joining the G-Unit next. Pizzo, you interested? -- Christopher "Scav" Yuscavage

Im not sure if that would be good,of course this would be great for M.O.P.,but what about us???I dont wanna see an M.O.P. album without production from like Preme & the other talented producers (forgot their names).I can just see it,M.O.P. love songs,50 doing all these hooks about clubs & shit, this would be dissapointing.

^^ LoL, if M.O.P. signed to G-Unit, they would not be doing love songs, not have 50 on every hook, and none of that saluting 50 and screaming G-Unit like some sort of Game.. they're always doing shit on their own premises, of course Premo & DR Period would still produce..
I don't mind seeing a M.O.P. feat. 50 Cent single if it can help them blow up and sell records..  8)

How would you know that???Look,50 & the whole G-Unit used to make classics before they signed to Em & Dre,& look at them now.Remember how everyone was happy that a street dude finally got a big deal???50 was good & still raw on GRODT,but no-one expected after that he'd be makin 10 love songs on every fuckin G-Unit release. The same thing could happen to M.O.P.,its always the best which fall off the hardest.

Masta T, this is MOP we're talking about, the day MOP are doing RnB love songs is the day I stop listening to hiphop, that shit is never gonna happen. They said in an interview when they signed with Rocafella that just because they were signed to them didn't mean they were gonna be shouting out "The Roc" and making Roc signs in all their videos, and have Just Blaze and Kanye produce their whole album. Therefore, why would signing with G Unit have any effect on them, it ain't like they suddenly gonna be doing the G-Unit stutter shit or anything like that, and they still gonna have Premier, DR Period, etc producing on the album and Teflon making guest appearances. I don't think they would sign the deal if it was gonna be any other way.

^You've got good points there but then again look at Xzibit.Out of all the rappers,no-one expected him to go commercial & make club songs etc.Thats all I gotta say.

Yeah, but Xzibit only had two albums under him at that point, and was looking for some direction on where to go next. MOP are four albums deep, and are set into their style, know who their audience is, and make albums to please that audience. They've had club hits by doing what they have always done, so why now suddenly change into making blatant club tracks, they would sound stupid. If they can get a club hit out of a song about robbing people (Ante Up), then I see no reason for them to change.

You say them changing their style is stupid, but for Xzibit it wasnt???C'mon, the number of albums has nothing to do wit this,Xzibit was almost anti-gangsta,anti-commercial & all that.He got respect from lots of dudes.Out of The Likwit Crew,King T was the only rapper that rapped gangsta, you know what I mean???It was just ridiculous for him to go all of a sudden commercial. When you're signed to 50 he's the one making YOUR music, you dont have control of it.Yeah you can have a few bangin songs here & there, but 50's gonna no matter what make your record all poppy.

Hah, you're crazy if you think M.O.P. will let 50 direct them, and have them screaming G-G-G-G-G, or make love songs..  :D
On ROC, the most "sellout" M.O.P. ever got, was when Billy yelled "WHO THE FUCK GOT A PROBLEM WITH MY ROC-A-WEAR APPAREL !!!"  8)

Nice discussion going on here. I'll stick with Masta T's point of view, 50's just too dominating to have artists really doing their own thing. I can't see M.O.P signing to them being a good thing. Let's just hope they don't sign.

Guerilla Black's possibly signing too... Well, I guess 50 really wants his own 2005 version of Biggie in G-Unit bad, after Shyne said no to getting signed  8)

The X thing was before 50's rise to the top. And X was never signed by Dre or Eminem. Dre just produced a lot of his CD. So he changed his style. I still like some of his music. At least he's not doing songs with country artists. And NY would hate on 50 so bad if he fucked with M.O.P.'s music. They already booed him of the stage once.

No doubt MOP would change, how can you guys even begin to question that?

JOME:  Isnt this the same group that recorded two songs with LFO (the one that got released was admittedly tight, but still!!!) and also Posh Spice.  Yet this group wouldnt sell out, right?  Yet, you always get on Snoop for doing the same shit.  Every famous rapper works with wack artists and "sell out" , and if MOP signed to G-Unit it would be no exception.  Maybe not love songs, but don't expect Ante Up part 2......

Yeah I know this was before G-Unit,he wasnt signed to Dre & all that,I was just givin an example that every rapper can fall off bad,& it can even be the ones we never expected.
