Pope benedict XVI is the new pope!!!

So I guess it's a good thing that I don't subscribe to your way of thinking. Because in my way of thinking having an individual like yourself reject me is only further confirmation that Allah has accepted me in his path.

My worldview??? My way of thinking?!!! Do you mean the worldview and way of thinking of damn near everybody on the face of the planet? Where education and accomplishment are rewarded and ignorance and hatred are shunned?
Yeah. My worldview is the problem here...
HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA

--- Quote from: Abdul Infinite aka Mullah Nasrudin on April 20, 2005, 07:27:43 AM ---So according to Catholics, when does he get to start talking to God? Is it before, or after he's elected? Don't Catholics believe he can forgive their sins and talk to God, etc.?
I don't believe in all that intercession and all that, but I'll be respectful because the last Pope worked to biuld stronger relationships with Muslims and he was driven towards World Peace.
Still, could one of the educated Catholics like MDogg explain to me exactly what the Popes role is and what, if any, relationship he has to God?

^
see dude, you obviously have no knowledge as you obviously got no clue what you are talking about.
we talk to god thru our prayers. ........everybody, not just the pope.
the pope is just an important figure that leads the church. he is admired deeply, but not worshiped.
who ever is feeding you the bullshit you are saying needs to be slapped.
--- Quote from: EclipZe on April 20, 2005, 02:35:00 AM ---I wanted that african guy
--- End quote ---
you wanted the african guy, but he would of been just as conservative and maybe even more hardline than the new pope.
are u cool with that?...
i wouldnt of minded if he became pope, but i dont hope for someone to be pope just coz "they should have someone that is black" . i hope for someone to keep the catholic church in its orthodox state like it should be. if he's black or he asian or indian or european etc it doesnt matter to me.its not important

That's why I asked for somebody educated like MDogg to answer.
My mom's side of the family is Catholic, and my fathers side is baptist. I grew up around it on my mothers side, so I have some idea about Catholisism although obviously worshipping a man as God or Gods son or praying to his mom and all the hypocrisy never interested me. But I know people go into confession and ask for a priest to forgive them or something like that, so I don't see what was so unacceptable about my questions about the Pope. Anyway, I don't want to be disrepectful to the Pope (and MDogg is one of the better posters here) .....so I'll stop there.

i hate infiinite's lil tactics of bringing the religion down then washing his hands at his ignorace.
i'd be an ASS HOLE if i sat here and said "
" i have a best friend who was muslum so i have some idea what that insane religion is about. i never got why so many people who follow a religion that was conceived by some random guy who said he was enlightened and proceeded to write a WHOLE new testiment of god for people to follow and to disregard the exhisting testiments of god and the stories about the prophets and messiahs that were known at the time are now known a little bit differently.all this seemed a little batty to me, ::twirls finger in hair:: someone who's mooslum please clarify "
no one is tearing down your religion infiinite don't denigrate ours.
but i have a real question ...how come the pope changes his name? and what was pope john paul II's name before he was pope

Actually, you can question my religion all you want. The Noble Qu'ran is rooted in reality. Islam is a practical religion. We don't accept any intercessor's between us and God, we don't ascribe any man as being a representative of God. We only worship the Creator and Sustainer of the Worlds and All the Systems of Knowledge.
Woodrow:
So now we're questioning YOUR religion??!!!
LOL The gall of this bitch.

The former Pope let it be known up front that he was an unbeliever (in Islam). Likewise, I'm letting it be known that I don't believe in Catholosism, I don't believe in a man being God (Jesus), I don't believe that the Creator of the worlds needed to send his son to learn forgiveness or to learn what suffering was, I don't believe in a man being an intermediary to God (pope). Yet I still respect the Pope for working to biuld stronger, more peaceful relationships between Muslims and Catholics, and I am united with him in that struggle. I saw that with my own eyes. I have seen Catholic churches make efforts to spread awareness in their churches about the true Islam, and I applaud them in those efforts, I've worked with Catholic churches here locally.
