2002, Year Of The Wu continues pace, with the news that ANOTHER Wu offshoot label has been set up.
Protect Ya Neck Records has just been launched, with the help of RZA and John 'Mook' Gibbons, who has been responsible for creating, producing and marketing previous Wu-Tang projects.
The label's first release will be 'Protect Ya Neck Collection, Vol. 1', a compilation of new and unreleased material by RZA, Kurupt, O.D.B., Shyhiem, Deadly Venoms, Wu-Syndicate, Black Knights, 9th Prince, MMO, Ice Grillz and many more.
Of particular interest is the track Free Old Dirty, which shares a title with an old Crack Village song. ODB himself features on the track, and his voicals are taken from those legendary "on the run" sessions with the RZA..
The track listing for the LP looks like this:
01. RZA and 9th Prince: Tribute to the 5th Brother (produced by RZA for Wu-Tang Productions)
02. MMO and Kurupt: Trying to Blow (produced by Storm for Rocks the World Productions)
03. MMO and Ice Grillz: Stop Playing Games (produced by Padrome for PYN Productions)
04. Ice Grillz: My Life (produced by Iron Shiek for PYN Productions)
05. MMO: Freeze (produced by Russ Prez for PYN Productions)
06. MMO: Last Days (produced by Padrome for PYN Productions)
07. Ol Dirty Bastard/Deadly Venoms/Brooklyn Zu: Free Ol Dirty (produced by Storm for PYN Productions)
08. Deadly Venoms and Wu-Tang: The Earthquake (produced by Russ Prez for PYN Productions)
09. Shyhiem: Yeah Unh Hunh (produced by Governor)
10. Bambi: Party Time (produced by Iron Shiek for PYN Productions)
11. MMO/Wu-Syndicate/Black Knights: Hotel Hoodlums (produced by Loffy) 12. Deadly Venoms/Tekitha/La The Darkman: Madd Long (produced by RZA for Wu-Tang Productions)
13. MMO: E.y.e. Love NY (produced by P.I.R.U. for Rainysongs)
14. Deadly Venoms: Explosion Don't Use Bomb Threat (produced by Storm for PYN Productions)
15. MMO/KGB/Deadly Venoms: PYN Symphony (produced by Smokin' Joe for PYN Productions)
16. Bambi: Evil That Men Do (produced by Iron Shiek for PYN Productions)
17. Deadly Venoms: Ready (produced by Storm for PYN Productions)

I don't like Wu too much, but I think it's too bad that an artist like Kurupt who's been in the rap game since back in the days is gettin destoyed!!!!!!!!!
