Barca confirm interest in Henry,

Seems that Arsenal will have a fight to keep Henry, though Bergkamp has signed a one year deal with Arsenal, imo if they got a good offer for Henry they should take it as they are rumoured to be interested in Fernando Torres


 Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard has confirmed his interest in Arsenal striker Thierry Henry.

Spanish sources have insisted for a number of weeks that Barca were intent on mounting a bid for the French star.

Both Arsenal and Henry have continually stressed for loyalty to each other, but like Real Madrid did with Patrick Vieira last summer - Barca will look to strain that relationship to the maximum.

Rijkaard has further fanned the speculation flames by admitting Henry was on his list of potential summer targets.

The Dutchman was asked about Vieira, with some reports claiming he could mount a bid for the Gunners skipper, but he replied: "No, I am only interested in Henry."

Barca are claimed to have already lodged a €24 million (£16 million) bid which was rejected out of hand earlier this month, but it is being reported that they are gearing up to double that offer within the next few days.

As good a striker as Henry is, he ain't the best in the world - imo Shevchenko, Eto'o are better & Torres could be better very soon

He is better than Shevvy.  I think Shevvy would be average in our league.  He makes good runs and is a good finisher but you need something else to be class in the premiership.  Henry has it all, pace, finishing, technique, accuracy, hes the total package.

Torres is class.  He will make a big move soon no doubt.  Wouldnt be suprised if Real Madrid made a bid.  Eto'o has had a good season.  Great player but again not amazing.

Shevchenko does it on a consistant basis in Seria A - normally considered the toughest league to score goals in - & in the Champions League, whereas the Champions League is the place that Henry really needs to prove it as he 'tends to go missing'

If Andy Johnson can score 21 goals in the premiership (and thats with no disrespect on Johnson) , Shevchenko & Eto'o would score  more
