WHEN AN ARTIST DOES NOT PUT THEIR CUT ON THE FINAL TRACKLIST Ii.e grown man business beat for w.o.m.d]i have a hard time believing that xzibit's lable would pay 75 g'z for a cut, then just swallow the cost even though though they didnt use the track.but at the same time, the producer still did his work

Completely depends on the contract. Sometimes a producer will get paid a fee upfront regardless of if the track makes the final cut of the album or not, but it wont be anywhere near the normal charging price (but again that depends on the producer). Lets say Producer "X" gets paid 15,000 per track. Well he sells a beat to John Doe (rapper) for his next album. John Doe agrees to pay "X" 3500 upfront for the track, and if the track makes the final cut, X gets the rest of the fee (11,500), and the points on the album (depending on his contract). The problem is there are particular powerfull artists out there that will take a track and not pay any upfront fee, and just see if they can "fuck with it." Then they put the track out on a mixtape without letting the producer know, and it fucks the producer in the end, because another artist who could have possibly purchased the track now has a "used" track, or if he does release the track, the consumer (public) will claim that he "bit" the other artist (who used it on his mixtape).
I hope that makes sense, and "X" does not represent Xzibit.
