I have given Dre my $15 twice for both The Chronic and 2001. I don't mind his work with Em, 50, or Game, I just won't be giving him my money if they are on the majority of Detox. I don't see why people are bitching about this. Dre will never listen to anyone here. He makes music he wants to, and with that, you can either choose to buy the album or just leave it on the shelves. I really would like to see him go out with a bang for his last album, but it's not anybody's decision but his.

The west coast music scene is what it is not because Dre isn't backing it. It is because of blackballing and the fact that the majority of people nowadays just don't want to hear gangsta shit. We at dubcnn.com are a good percentage of the people that still want to hear it. Seriously, when was the last time you heard a gangsta track in the top 40? The record labels are afraid of that shit. The west either needs to start making pop chart shit or they need to quit bitching and remain underground. We all know the music industry is made up of fads. Yall act like just because you like that certain type of music, that is all anyone should listen to. There are a couple artists that I have heard on the west that seem like they are getting the short end of the stick and they should get a major deal, but a lot of the artists are telling the labels to fuck off. They want to stay independant. Ras Kass did that and yall wonder why he hasn't blown up yet.

I think after the year 2001, Dre started focusing more on his own artists and stopped doing so many collaborations with dudes from the West. Think about it, during that year, he worked with:

Snoop Dogg, Knoc-Turn'al, Warren G, Nate Dogg, Mack 10, DJ Quik, 40 Glocc, Xzibit...

Then once 50 signed, Dre put more energy into him for obvious reasons. 1) to create a new superstar, which he did and 2) to make a shitload of money, which he did again. Honestly, I'd love nothing more than for Dre to produce for artists like 213, DPG & them, but in reality, Dre's got his own thing going without them. As far as the West Coast goes, Dre only fucks with Nate Dogg on a regular basis, along with Game and I'm positive him & Snoop will cook up some shit for Detox. That's good enough for me.
