Vanilla Sky was a great movie. If you like Vanilla Sky, check out Mulholland Drive. That movie is twice the mindfuck as Vanilla Sky.

Actually just check out pretty much any David Lynch film I you want a mindfuck, Blue Velvet, Lost Highway and especially Erazorhead

How could you not think it was better? The directing was better, the guy who plays the character Tom Cruise played in the remake is far more believable in the role, Penelope Cruz doesn't sound stupid trying to speak english, and the "crazy girlfriend" actually seems crazy rather than just being innocent Cameron Diaz. The casting for the re-make was pretty stupid if you ask me.

I thought both films were exerllent but I think Vanilla Sky went more in depth with the whole storyline.  The story is move alive in Vanilla Sky.  I thought Open Your Eyes was good but I think the bigger budget style of Vanilla Sky made it more believable for me.

I just how believable a film is by its acting performances and the quality of directing, and on those two points Open Your Eyes is far superior to Vanilla Sky for me.

just rented it and watched it, what a movie, this is a day to remember, gotta buy this film, cameron diaz really reminded me of someone i know, and if i didnt know any better i would say fight club had a strong influence on the writers of this film, but according to you guys this was a remake of an older film

anyways, still fight club > vanilla sky, but this was still one hell of a movie

Great movie. But if I was him at the end I'd tell em to send me to a nice fake world instead of the real world but make me believe that I really chose the real world.

Nice fake world >>> real world.

Donnie Darko was nice too but I didn't like the ending it was way too heroical to me. Killing oneself for a bitch that doesn't even know you.. I dislike such idealistic heroic deaths.

Fight Club is the best movie, ain't nothing to fuck with.

The spanish version is far superior to the US version, I suggest you check it out if you enjoyed the US one.

For the record, everyone in Spain think "Vanilla Sky" is a really poor version. I don't like Spanish cinema and can't stand Amenabar, so I can't judge.

LOL, yeah. I couldn't stand more than 15 minutes of "Tesis". I kinda liked "The others", aside from it being a ripoff of "The 6th sense". But my personal hatred towards him comes from when he made public he was gay to help promoting "Mar adentro". That was... gay!
