Just as I thought...Every1 gonna jump the bandwagon and say " oh he's a cool guy and he's doin this for hip hop yadi yadi ya"
any of y'all ever go to hip hop events, b boy summits, graffitti shows, mc battles..shit like that..any of y'all ever even try to contribute to the hip hop world..of course not.. y'all still realizing that 2pac was in digital underground just now..
Yes..
it IS black and WHITE.. rap has all outlets of music, we got gangsta rap, we got r&b rap, we got rap rock type stuff, we got hip hop..
now obviously GAME takin the gangsta rap route..tryin to follow eazy e's shadow and what not.. but lets get real, its a fuckin gimmick..now I dunno bout y'all but if I'mma listen to a certain type of music thats supposed to show me a certain lifestyle or give a certain feel..I wanna make sure dude is real.. Now some1 who was auditioning to be a hollywood actor and been on tv dating shows aint my idea of a gangster rapper, and I'd like y'all to name me 1 other blood you've known in your life who sported a tounge ring, I guarentee you won't be able to name none.
Also, lets put the shoe on the other foot, say Rock music was the thing that was in, but it was starting to fizzle out and get overrun by marketing acts just as it did and as hip hop is doing. Now at the end of the rock era, if you were a fan from the start of it all, would you wanna see some new rock act that came out of nowhere and was making rock tunes for pepsi commercials or what not, then suddenly got signed by pure luck cus they aint standout, but all the sudden your forcefed this mediocre bands music as they speak to you about the times when rock and roll was good, and start namin off acts like jimi hendrix and rolling stones and whatever. You'd say, who the fuck is this guy speakin on the people who made the jusic real, why does he think he should be the one to speak about it and not somebody else who earned the right to. Now if Dr. dre make an album called documentary talkin bout hip hop I'd feel it more than likely cus that man seen it from start to end, or ice cube, or ice t to name a few...real mc's who been around to see hip hop evolve.. I'm not gonna take hip hop lessons from some guy who learned about it within the mid 90's..please.. thats why you 15-18 yr olds can feel it but us older can't..
And by the way the letter wasn't amiled to his pad or nothin you idiots it was just a simple myspace letter which he'll never read anyways..
But I wanted to speak my opinion on it..and of course he won't care or won't read it..but I'm not gonna be like all the lemmings and act like I'm down with his cause when I'm not..
the main purpose of this letter for me was actually to post it on sites like these and watch the followers come out from the shadows..
Y'all do some research..learn about your favorite artists before tyou start clinching to their jocks...you might suprise yourself and learn sumthin you shoulda known a while ago.. And if any1 is listenin to the game to get their education on hip hop past, hip hop don't want you a part of its future, cus you already failed the test. or the game should I say

Wow, man that letter sucked. If you're going to write someone a letter, you should at least make it a good one. I ain't a Game fan by the way. You should write him a letter about him being a biter. But post it up here so we can proof read it.

Man, I've been into hiphop since the 80's, and I'm probably older than most of the heads here, but I don't really see how the Game is ruining hip hop. If anything, he's paying homage to peeps like Jam Master Jay. Even though the name dropping is excessive and annoying after a while, I think he really is trying to pay respects to the Eazy E's and the Jam Master Jays, who made this whole hip hop thing happen.

Besides one man can't bring down a whole culture, hip hop is bigger than that. Instead of complaining about game, are you supporting the acts that you feel are really putting out quality music? Are you going to their shows? Are you buying their albums? How are you supporting hip hop as a culture?

We have had way too much mindless criticism and bitchin by self proclaimed "real hip hop heads" and I include myself in that group, as I've done it myself. Shit I've made posts on this board mercilessly criticising Snoop, calling him a sellout for working with Justin Timberlake, but I woke up, and realized that hip hop is still thriving, and that's it's a waste of time and energy getting worked up over those that I perceive as not keeping it real. I'd rather support and prop those that are representing properly. If you want to see hip hop thrive, then focus your energy on those who you feel are reppin it right instead of worrying about what the Game is doing.

Thanks for the class lesson, and yes I do contribute to hip hop as I have helped out b boy summits and such.. I've been on numerous street teams promoting artists and goin to their shows..
And, since you are from the 80's era, it should be easy for you to nitce that the exposure of the culture is changing. And I would never ever blame the entire fall of a music genre on one person. I just feel he is aware of what he is doin and how excessive he name drops, and its my personal opinion that I feel he is NOT name dropping to show respect but to gain exposure and seem like he's a big part of it.. I mean 50 cent did the same shit when he made that underground song " how to rob a n!gga" or sumthin named close to that, where he name dropped on everybody but wasn't payin respect instead talkin shit..that song skyrocketed his exposure and I think its cheap and a shortcut for any1 to get big..by trashin others who have already made it, or in games case..kissin others asses whove already made it..like I said I grew up with the music and don't need some1 who just learn about it in the kid 90's to tell me bout jammaster jay when He himself wasn't listening to that at the time... And y'all can say the letter is bullshit , but aside from the opinions i sate..all the facts are true.. it is the biggest namedroppin album of all time,..he was tryin to get into hollywood before rap.. he is a blood with a toungering.. he screwed over the guy who helped bring him into the business ( kinda like how 50 left the silverback guerillaz aka origianl g unti when he hit it big ).. I mean I can go on.. and no its not hate..I have ears and I listen..aside from me not buying his act if he did have talent I'd have to respect that..but bein an average mc with an average flow and jus usin other people who made it as your stepping stone..not feelin it... maybe 1 day one of you cna make a huge contributution to something..then later on have some1 else come and use your EXACT method to make themselves big, would that make you feel happy..?
I could go on for days tho..i'm dealin with MTV lemmings here would wouldn't pass a 5 question hip hop quizz so forget it..

Okay then, why not educate peeps on what acts you're feelin, the cats who are representing the shit correctly? If you have knowledge, you can spread it without coming accross like an ass, like you're doing now.

Instead, you come on here, acting arrogant, putting down those that post here and spewing your hate at your target.

We all know that hip hop has changed quite a bit since for the 80's. Some of the changes have been good. Some of the changes have been bad, but that's ok. The reason why is you can't have the good without the bad. You can't have the positive without the negative. These opposing forces have been affecting hiphop for a couple of decades or longer. That won't change nor should it.

Anyway, why not contribute to the board instead of cutting down those that post here. Why not build instead of destroy? That's all I see you doing here with your posts, destroying. Chill with the attitude and quit trying to act like you're above everyone else here. Ain't nobody tryin to hear that.

What is the point of this letter? It sounds to me like you just hatin' on Game. U just tellin' ur opinions. No real hard facts of why Game is hurtin' hip-hop.

And how was Game disrespectin' Jam Master Jay in "Dreams"??
