Alot of people forget that Diddy produced and introduced the greatest rapper of all time.........imo to see Dre and Diddy hook up would be great. 2 legends in the studio at the same time. If Diddy came wit some hard beats like old days and then add Dre perfection you cant deny that would be a hit.
I've never considered Puffy to be a legitimate producer. He may have a good ear for music, he may be very business-savvy and he helped build a dynasty in Bad Boy Records, but as far as actual beat making, I don't think he's anywhere near Dre's level. For one, the majority of Diddy's "productions" are based on samples. Granted, Dre sampled heavily during the early stages of his career, Diddy went on to MAKE his career via sampling on records. A lot of cats believe that "Ready To Die" and "Life After Death" were Puffy produced albums, when in reality, there were dozens of talented musicians and legit producers that helped develop the sound and creativity of those records. I don't wanna sound like I'm dogging on Puff, but I believe that he gets way too much credit, producer-wise. I doubt that he even knows how to play keys or program drums. He's had some incredible ideas and he is a creative person without a doubt, but he ain't fucking with Dre at all.
Every producer has musicians, creative people assisting with ideas and co-producers.
