Katie Holmes is converting to Scientology

US actress Katie Holmes says she is converting to Scientology, embracing the new age faith of boyfriend Tom Cruise.
Holmes, in London to promote the new film Batman Begins, told Associated Press she was excited about her lessons in the religion.

The former Catholic and star of television's Dawson's Creek grew up with a poster of Cruise on her bedroom wall and has said she used to dream of one day marrying the actor.

Holmes, 26, had been on the record about her relationship with 42-year-old Cruise since the end of April.

The relationship began after Cruise split from Spanish actress Penelope Cruz, and Holmes and actor Chris Klein called off their long-standing engagement.
