How about DMX Flesh Of My Flesh, Blood Of My Blood to the disappointing And Then There Was X.  His first two albums were great but since FOMFBOMB he just hasn't been the same.  If were talking West Coast, I'll have to go with Dogg Pound, Dogg Food to Dillinger And Young Gotti.  Now I love both but they just aren't very similar.
if you're girl has a leak tell her 2 call tha mothafuckin' Plumma named Pete, thats me.

Doggystyle to Doggfather hands down. Some of that shit on the A side I can't even listen to. There was more of a drop off between those two than The Last Meal and Paid the Cost. The Game Is To Be Sold was better than The Doggfather if anything b/c it had that mini movie to go with it. And the Eminem Show was better than The Marshall Mathers LP as far as content. Eminem's biggest drop off was from The Eminem Show to Encore.

Predator was still a great album.

The worse fall off I can think of was Snoop's Doggystyle to the Doggfather. It took him YEARS to get his spot back.

westside connection - "bow down" followed by their dissapointing  "terrorist threats"

the d.o.c - "no one can do it better" to the terrible "helter skelter"

Snoop from his standout classic Doggfather album to the Game is to be sold (most fucked up production ever on a snoop record except for the still bangin' classic diamond: still a g thang)

Nas from his movielike classic album It was written to I am (an album without identity except for diamonds: NY pt. II and Nas is like)

I blame both albums on the rap audience (including myself) at the time. People didn't dig their complete different sounding second LP's while they where actually at least as good as their first ones. Both artists started doubting themselves after bad reactions and came up with almost pure garbage third Lp's.

Xzibit - Restless - Man Vs. Machine - Restless was a very good album... Man Vs. Machine was wack!

Warren G - Regulate... G Funk Era - Take A Look Over Your Shoulder - Take A Look... wasn't a horrible album, it was quite decent actually... but it was soooooooo far below Regulate....

how about going the other way?

from wackness to dopeness...

RBX - The RBX Files - No Mercy No Remorce - his first album was garbage... production hit rock bottom on that one... but then he hooked up with Swedish wonderboy Polarbear on No Mercy... and it was great!

1. Eminem "Eminem Show" to "Encore"

2. Dead Prez "Let's Get Free" to "Revolutionary But Gangsta"

3.  Snoop "Doggystyle" to "Doggfather"

4.  Dogg Pound "Dogg Food" to the next Dogg Pound album (so wack I forgot the name)

5.  Daz "Revenge Retaliation and Get Back" to the album after that (so wack I forgot the name)

When I first heard that song "Where is the love" by black eyed peas I didn't even know it was them!
When i found out I was pretty sure that was the biggest fall off and sellout move ever.
From original funky songs on" Behind the front" to corny pop songs on Elephunk like "Shut up" and "Where is the love".
IS DETOX NEXT? Don't think so.
