How would you rate rappers street cred...and is it important to you?

From a scale of 1-10, how would you judge the following rapper's street credibility, judging what you've heard people say and from what you see when you see them? At the same time, do you feel that it is important at all to you? Even though many people claim it's not important, they stay sayin "____'s a bitch, he got punked" and similar comments.
*If you feel that street cred is not at all relevant to a particular rapper, put N/A instead of a number. This would go for rappers who nobody sees as bein a gangsta rapper and doesn't have a negative image.*
9-10 - Definitely feared on the streets and did dirt. You barely hear anybody say anything negative about them, or tryin to call them out on bein a bitch, even their rivals. They rarely rap about anything that they didn't actually do.
7-8 - You may hear a bit of suspicion about them and what they may have claimed to do, but in general, they seem to be pretty respected. They exaggerate their rhymes a bit as most rappers, but they probably grew up around the environment they rap about, even if they weren't the main ones doin dirt.
5-6 - Pretty questionable overall, and you hear conflicting reports depending on the bias of their supporters. Nobody can ever seem to agree on if they are real or fake, but even at that, you still wouldn't test them if they weren't a rapper and you just saw them passing by on the streets.
3-4 - Highly questionable, and it's hard to take anything they say serious. Everybody seems to question every single thing about them, and it seems like they are tryin way too hard to uphold their image.
0-2 - 110% questionable, and nobody at all sees anything that closely resembles the image they try to portray as bein gangstas or thugs. In most cases, they've been exposed to the point that they have no chance to ever become successful again unless they changed genres or even professions. There are barely any rappers who are really at this level...so even if it seems like somebody gets no respect, they still aren't near this level.
Here are some rappers I am listing for now, and you all can feel free to add.
Snoop Dogg
Daz
Mack 10
Ice Cube
WC
Kurupt
Tray Dee
Goldie Locc
DJ Quik
MC Eiht
50 Cent
Game
CJ Mack
Cassidy
Jay-Z
Kanye West
E-40
Will Smith
P. Diddy
T.I.

Here's how I'd call it...
Snoop Dogg - 5
Daz - 5
Mack 10 - 6
Ice Cube - 5
WC - 9
Kurupt - 6
Tray Dee - 8
Goldie Locc - 8
DJ Quik - 7
MC Eiht - 8
50 Cent - 4
Game - 7
CJ Mac - 7
Cassidy - 7
Jay-Z - In a way, N/A...but I'd say 7 if I had to
Kanye West - N/A
E-40 - N/A
Will Smith - N/A
P. Diddy - N/A
T.I. - 8
Eminem - N/A
Personally...all that street cred shit doesn't mean much of anything to me, especially when I'm listenin to music. I just feel that rappers should be a lot more true to themselves, and not try so damm hard to have that gangsta image if it's not them. But I see it as entertainment, and I'd hope most of them didn't do all the murderous shit they claimed to do. I think many people put too much emphasis on all the street cred shit. I will call a rapper out for bein fake about theirs though.

me personally, street credit CAN be important. But only depending on what kind of rapper u are. Just like ANYthing. If you a rapper, rappin about the streets...u better have some fuckin street credit or youre a joke. If youre a rapper rappin about your 30,000 dolla chain...u betta have some shine, or youre bullshit. it doesnt mean it isnt possible to make good music even if your fake...but me, myself...i cant fuck wit it. BTW, R-Tistic...i cant believe u dont think street credit isnt a part of E-40's image. You been to an E-40 show before? I mean, a lot of what i judge these fools on..is who comes to the shows. I been to concerts with Snoop....Daz....Eminem...Ice Cube....50 cent....Jay Z....etc, and tha crowd looked like they was ready for an N'sync concert. I also been to shows wit Quik...40...WC...Kurupt....etc, where tha whole crowd was nuthin but gangstas. Muhafuckas can be a good judge of character sometimes...and they support who represents them the best.

the only people that i ever really thought would be in the 9-10 region would be like WC, Boo Yaa Tribe, Tray Dee... at least out of the artists with some sort of name recognition. one look at boo ya tribe and you know that your about to get laid out.
yeah damn , e-40 definitely has some cred to him. i would never place him in the same category as will smith or p diddy, eminem , and shit.

lol, no BOO YAA?
I really dun care, coz I know there are alot of studio ganxtas out there. It is nice to know that some have done what they claim in songs though. I'll blast a hot song regardless of who it's by and what they've claimed to have done or whatever tattoo's they have added after they became famous, lol.

Yo wassup wit E40 gettin a N/A. Thats a street ass muthfucka and u never hear cats talkin bout that niggas cred. And the bay is hella grimy. Cuz got hella respect from all them thugz in the bay. And why TI an 8 yall just curious? game gets bout an 8 cuz cant nobody tell me he aint grew up in a fucked environent.
tray dee-10
unquestioned facts: OG crip, locked up on assault charges
question facts: when he gone get out. I aint really heard no disputes
conclustion: From a coast that like to bring down the next man, aint nobody dissin this niggas. Plus, the eastidez singlehandly brought back snoops
g cred
Goldie loc-9
unquestion facts: OG crip + I personally witnessed cuz in in LB hood getting hella luv w/o security
questioned facts: i aint really heard none
conclusion: niggas was in the hood like it was all good. nobody realyl dissen em
mc eight-9
unquestioned facts: from 60s crip?, underground legent
questioned facts: g aint in em
conclusion: only negitive shit i heard from him was from quik and that was on some street shit. The fact that quik was beefin on some
street shit lets me know that ncuz really be in compton like that. Plus he been vouched others
game-8
Unquestioned facts: fathers a crip, mothers a crip, brother -blood shot killed, other brother notoroius blood, close friend -shot in head, foster care,
shot 5 times, dope dealer, from compton-either santana/cedar blocc, spidar locc gettin gats from em
Questioned facts: tongue ring, stripper, not a blood gang banger, and not from cedar blocc
conclusion: Judgin by the scale, cuz is at least a 7/8 cuz i think its quite obvios he grew up in a gang bangin environemt. No denying the facts but
gets criticsized by people who just dont like em. Just judgin by the facts, if his brother is a notorious blood, then he obviously is blodd affiliated, and
im at least willing to believe he's blood too. In the hood, your guilty by association anyways, so this ones pretty easy- 8. only knoc is that his g
files aint like his brothers which would give him a 9.
quik-7.5
unquestioned facts: treetop blood, compton OG
quesitioned facts: 8 called him a bitch, and self denouces gang
conclusion-nobody questions quiks g files but himself. He def grew up in compton, def banged at least somewhat so 7.5.
50 cent-7
unquestioned facts: shot 8 times, dealer, kicked out of school, REAL street beef wit some street niggas and rap niggas, if he didnt roll wit
security, and stayed in NY then he'd prollly get murked
questioned facts: snitch bitch!
conclusion-definltly was in them streets so he'd getta 9. But then you got the snitch factory, so ill subtract 2: 7
40 Water-9
unquestioned: served that yay, house shot at, had enuff street pull to blow up independently, hella locall luv
questioned: will he relocate to atlanta like too short
conclusion: nobody blows up independently w/ ya ownl label unless u in the streets and got d money to help pay yo shit. Judgin by the scale, no street knocs gets u a least a 9.
Daz-7
dont know too much history on em, but personally seen cuz blue raggin on some regular day shit(no concert or media)-7
Kurupt-6
dont know too much history on em, heard em claim 2 diff hoods, seems kinda suspect though. Daz always sayin how he gotta protect this
nigga-6
snoop-7
unquestioned-pitched dope, served time, involved in a killing
questioned-crip gangsta, what hood he from, recent song choices
coonclusion-Snoop has had allot of street knocs. Dont know if its do to his success, but when you pit his street cred against the easidez, you
really see how small he his. But i charge allot of it do to the fact he's been out the streets for so long so i give em a 7
mack 10-6
questioned-blood authenticy
unquestioned- d dealer
conclusion: dont know too much on cat so i give him a 6.
Jigga9-
like 40, came up independent with own label, he definielty slun dope, definilty had to have the street around him, stayed in marcy projects, no reall
knocs about that stuff so gotta give a 9.
TI-8
lived in atlanta for 6 yrs, well respected way before he blew. Seen were he grew up, definity was in them street. Dealin and killin and all that I
dont know. Atlanta aint like the west where they always tryna discredit each others gangsta. I dont know too much about him so ill givem an 8.
Overall, as long as u not tryna portay an image that wasnt you before you got the opportunity, i aint got know problem with it.

Street cred don't mean too much to me, the music being made it what matters the most to me. For the most part I see many of them as actors anyway. If I go and watch a mob movie or a gangsta movie I'm not expecting them to be on the same gangsta shit in reality. I don't expect much more from rapppers either. I see it as portrayal of a character or storytelling. If they really wanted to be real they would use their real names but they don't. It's like Clark Kent and Superman. [real name] is like this and [rap name] is like that...characters that are shying away from their realness right from the start.

WC
WC doesn´t belong on that list. any man that goes on tv debating with that Alonzo guy(from streetgangs.com) and admits that he´s never banged and admits to talkin about it just coz it sells records it´s not a "real" gangster. allthough i don´t think there´s too many rappers out there that are actual gangster. after sein "Real Money" about 50 Cent i gotta say that 50 should be very high on this list even tho he rolls with police these days. coz even his enemies are on that shit vouching for him sayin that he really sold a whole lot of drugs and these are Smurf´s exact words "around that time in 94-95 he was one of the biggest, youngest drug dealers". and if you get arressted at the age of 12 with a burner and crack cocaine you´re one crazy motherfucker.

I could really care less as long as they make good music, but...
how the fuck you gonna put e40 as N/A?
have you ever listened to his music? just by listening to his lyrics and stories you would know that that guy grew up on the streets ghetto as fuck. and vallejo sure ain't no fuckin joke.

Well it's a lot of reasons I said N/A for E-40...it's definitely not me sayin he's in the same "category" as a Kanye or Will Smith. I've heard a whole lot of his shit, basically everything since like 94 95, and to me, he doesn't really try to portray that gangsta image like the other rappers I put up there. Most people see him as a funny ass dude when he is in interviews, and they see him as somebody creative as fuck. When a lotta people hear the name E-40, they aren't thinkin like "damn that nigga is crazy as hell, he real as fuck" as far as street shit goes. I have never been to his shows, and I don't doubt that he rolls wit real niggs and all that. I just never saw him as bein somebody who used that Gangsta image...most of y'all are actin like I gave him a zero...all N/A means is that you don't think that his image is important to him as a rapper.
