anybody seen "the deer hunter"?

this movie is great in so many ways....its one of those movies that u dont necessarily watch often....but maybe once in a great while....once u watch it it hits u with the emotional power.....hell i haven't watched it in almost a year but i still remember most of it....the movie starts off funny but ends tragic....robert de niro gives a powerful performance....aswell as christopher walken and the rest of the cast....even though its over 3 hrs long it still a masterpiece....wut u guys think?

yeah me too ^ i remember watching it when i was little and think the same.

i remember that the begining was Loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong as fuck and bunch of scenes at some party that went on forever that didn't even make sense (at the time)


but i'd like to see again now that i'm older and will get it better.

It's long and drags on like a long turd but it has parts where its great. Mostly the russian roulette scenes.

Its a different type of war movie that they dont usually show.

The beginning shows how the friends are before they go to war. They show them during war, and then how much they changed after the war. Its a really slow moving movie, so you got to have patience to watch, however i really liked it.
