Tennessee Deputies Suspended after Inmates Allegedly Have Sex in Patrol Car

JACKSON, Tenn. (AP) -- Two Madison County sheriff's deputies were suspended Friday after a male and female inmate in their custody were determined to have had sex while they were being transported to jail, according to a statement from the sheriff's department.

Deputies Danny J. Wilson, 49, and Richard A. Baxter, 52, were suspended for three days without pay and reassigned to other duties after an internal investigation, according to the statement.

Madison County Sheriff David Woolfork said the prisoners were handcuffed and wearing waist chains. They did not have leg chains or seatbelts on, he said.

The deputies are scheduled to return to work Tuesday
