what really happen on the lakers draft day
« on: July 02, 2005, 11:53:31 PM »
the johnaton bender and #17 was shut down after Danny Granger fell right into the laps of the Pacers. Granger was their first choice but Pacers knew Granger was going in the top 8 so thats why they were willing to give up their draft pick but after he fell  all the way to 17, pacers pulled outta the deal.

gerald green was the lakers #1 choice untill Bynum worked out for the lakers the thursday before the draft. phil jacks was their and the laker organization was very impressed and they were only going to roll with 1 high school kid so they decided they were gonna roll with andew instead of green.

bender is still on the radar and mitch kupchak will still try to trade for him this offseason.

No thanx. Anyway i'm a big Laker fan, but i like Indiana too, so i'm happy they selected the real steal of the draft in Granger. This draft was pretty homo, if you ask me. It's impossible to sleep on Granger like that!! He'll be the "real" next Pippen.

Wasn't Gerald Green supposed to be drafted in the top 5? I remember rumors of the Lakers trading some players for a higher pick just to draft him...Damn, he fell like a muthafucka, huh?
