Hughes to Cleveland
« on: July 08, 2005, 04:08:28 PM »
Larry Hughes is going to sign with the Cavs.  That should lock them up for the playoffs.  Surely they can't blow it now!!

Hell yeah. Im happy for James. Yet I wonder how this is going to fit, cause they play similiar positions. I hope James doesnt have to play a different position than SG for life just cause he's so damn versatile.

Stupid signing him. I mean Hughes is a good player and all, but like 7even said, he's too similiar to LeBron! Redd was def a better fit for the Cavs.

Larry Hughes is a point Guard.

But this is a bad signing by the Cavs, they fuckin panic, they so badley want to show Lebronze they're willing to spend money to help him win that they just went out & got a guy that doesn't even fit their system LOL...

they fuckin need 3 point shooters around Lebronze,,,,like i don't know.. RAY ALLEN & MICHAEL REDD!!!..

Instead they got a player who can't shoot for shit

LARRY HUGHES #'s: shot 43% from the field & 28% from 3 point Land LOL..good luck keepin Lebronze in cleaveland Mr.Owner of the Cavaleirs ;D

Ok, but It still doesnt make Larry Hughes a good 3pts shooter, which was the kind of player Cavs need the most. Shit, even Bobby Simmons and Donyell Marshall were better fits for them! Don't get me wrong, i like Hughes and he's a good SG who played PG last year (but still he's a SG to me), but they wasted a big contract, imo.

What are you saying? LeBron's been playing Small Forward for the longest...Hughes is a Point/Shooting Guard...I don't see any reason they couldn't play together, and possibly even build very good chemistry...

When was the last time you saw a Forward average more than 7 assists? His style is def more G than F, nevertheless he played a lot SF but that's because Cleveland's line-up is the way it is. He even started as a PG at the beginning. He's just very versatile. He can play everything from SF to SG to PG, and I still see his primary position to be SG no matter what anybody says.  :)

It doesn't matter, Hughes can play Point Guard or Shooting Guard...LeBron is listed as only a Forward, he's not even a Forward/Guard...Just because he's a versatile player doesn't make him a Point Guard...LOL...Kobe's been playing Point Guard for a large portion of his career, but that doesn't mean shit, he's still a Shooting Guard...And even you said it, LeBron can play SF, SG, and PG...Hughes can play PG and SG...So how the fuck does that not work? Please make sense...

Antonio Daniels wouldn't fit the Lakers right now, but you don't know what you're saying if you think he sucks...

He plays good D, he can't shoot but we have Atkins from the bench for the 3pts. Plus he's like 6-4, a tall PG, perfect for the triangle. He doesnt have to bring the ball a lot (we have Odom and Kobe who can do it), but just defend and make some dribbles. P.S. He ranked #2 in the NBA in assists per turnovers. I think he's the perfect fit for us.
