Just wondering though, do any of these websites make money? Im thinking of doing something new, but I cant really be bothered.

Im sure some make money, I don't understand the point of running them, if your not making anything. Unless your a groupie that gets star truck at meeting and interviewing a rapper, or like I used to do - pimp some kids that live online to do news and what not.

AllHipHop, closely followed by SOHH are the most popular, then Dubcnn is the most popular West Coast site according to these stats I just found on another forum.

But yeah, so your forum Dubcc is up there with actual *websites* in the rankings. If the forum was Dubcnn.com/forum like most websites, Dubcnn ranking would be higher again. DaveyD.com would be like that also, his forums are external.

dunno if some of these sites actually makes money but Jigsaw and Greg over AHH should turn that shit into an actual magazine instead coz they know pretty much everyone in the industry so it wouldn´t be hard for them to get interviews,ads etc for a magazine. but it would be a lot more hardwork to run a mag then it would be to run a site.

I wouldnt class siccness a rap site, more of a CD store for Bay Area losers. I think this is the first time I have visited this website. Looks like some bootleg site to me, run by some fake crips, hence "Sicc".

well for me, my participation in dubcnn doesnt really make me any money (but its not even really a job, so i dont expect pay), but theres a lot of other benefits, i can pretty much get in free to any rap show in california, so i've already saved hundreds of dollars on concert tickets. i used to be interested in meeting artists at first, but after awhile this whole thing just becomes a business. despite not getting money, i have got my foot into the industry this way and have got good experience. and i am planning to start work with C&A marketing, who helps to do A&R administration and marketing for Nike, NFL, MLB, Doggystyle records, Smirnoff, Geffen, Universal, etc. dubcnn aint a career or nothing, cant rely on it, but its definitely a stepping stone, and i appreciate it for helping me to get to where i am now.
