“A young fan wearing a Yankees T-shirt and cap asked David Wright for an autograph during batting practice. ‘Not for a Yankee fan,’ Wright said before ducking into the dugout. The boy then began to cry. Alerted by ushers, Wright returned and gave the turncoat kid a bat and an autographed ball.”…

It's all about Oakland.  hottest team in baseball right now.

before the allstar break they swept the white sox (who had the best record in bb)
after the allstar break they took 3/4 from the rangers, then 2/3 from the angels in anneheim, now won the first game against texas in texas.  they won 9 out of their last 11 games against good teams.  not to mention a couple of shutouts, and nearly a no hitter.  and this is with one of the LOWEST salaries in baseball.  not like the yankees quarter billion dollar payroll, or the sox who spend nearly as much.
