I've learned German for 3 years in school, so I know the basic stuff, but that it's it. I never liked speaking it though...it sounds so severe/angry/strict/etc. It must be the sound of it I guess. Actually not one person in my school liked speaking it, lol, so it's not just me.

Just don't expect them to have a nice,friendly sounding language or very polite manners. German sounds harsh,snappy and demanding to the non-speaker.

But then Dutch might sound aggressive too,with all the gutteral G-sounds. For example, 'gelukkig' (happy,happily) is a very positive word yet it might come across as growling because of those gutteral G's. In German,a G is usually pronounced as a K or in the same way as in English.

What you've been told is right.. there isn't too much to see. A lot of shit was also bombed, and so on. What still exists is the Reichstag in Nürnberg, and the major KZ (concentration camp) in Dachau, near Munich. These are the only Nazi related places I been to. I heard there are some hidden war bunkers in Berlin too, but I don't really know much about, don't know if you're allowed to go into them like it ain't nothin'.
hey thanks homie for the info. hopefully one day i'll get to check it out for myself. The Reichstag and the Dachau concentration camp I wanna see for sure.
