Halle Berry has gone geek: "I spend lots of time in chat rooms being various names and people. I am never who I am," the Oscar winner told us at a recent New York City event, where she presented the American Heart Association with $150,000 on behalf of Oral-B.

It may have all started with research for her upcoming thriller, Perfect Stranger, about a woman who goes undercover online to crack the case of her friend's murder. But besides perusing medical chat rooms, Berry admits, "I have been to a couple of dating ones just to see what everybody is talking about. I chime in and say a little fun stuff." But she won't reveal any of her online pseudonyms. "I could never give it out," she says with a laugh.
