For the next few years, what type of west coast production do you want to hear? Do you want it to keep that stereotypical west coast feel, upbeat, funk feel, usually with that "clap" that people know about? Do you want it to sound like what Dre started on Dre 2001, with the west coast tempo and hard hittin drums, basslines sometimes, and symphonic feel? Do you want it to sound like Rick Rock's style, which is west coast but has it's own identity and has a great club feel?

I want J Wells Type Productions, all futurelike fast paced, bass bumpin tracks
Or
Madlib Productions, keeping it jazzy in the crates, awkward melodys that sound good

From the new breed of West Coast producers I'm feeling J. Wells, J-Steez and Damizza a lot.

Unlikely as it sounds I can see Dre changing the style on Detox then a lot of producers copying that. What type of sound it will be, I don't have a clue.

I dont think it should go in any 1 single direction.
I want to keep the typical west coast sound as the base of hiphop but theres nothing wrong with producers trying to develop their own single sounds
Thats what makes cali music stand out more than the south and the east, its diversified

I want the west to go back to being the cutting edge of hip hop musically. That's how the west coast blew up in the first place, by being 10 steps ahead of everyone else musically. We need to gett back to that.
