No, he's a B actor.  Then again, just because somebody does a good action movie doesn't make them an A actor in my book, I'd say people like Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Samuel L. Jackson, Tom Hanks, Will Smith, etc. are A actors.  I don't think Will Smith is a decidely great actor, but he does make enjoyable movies and his name alone draws people to see a movie.  Ice Cube isn't there yet.

I watched a interview with Cube durnig his promotion of "Are We There Yet?", and then he said that his dream was to become a A-Actor, and he now considered himself to be a "B+ actor" on the rise, and that he eventually will become a "real actor"..

after makin xxx2, do u think we can label him as an a-actor now?

i think he is the best rapper turned actor.. oh well, maybe will smith is better..

i think tupac was a better rapper, and a better actor than cube... he is a D minus actor.

Ice-Cubes best performance was Dough-Boy in Boyz n hood, proably the best character ever played by a rapper.

But that was also Cubes rap character and him being more or less like that during the Death Certificate era.

His acting was just as good as Clooney and Mark Wahlberg in 3 Kings.

Friday was a great film but you could tell by Cube's acting that his best Game will always be hip-hop.

In the film game hes a much better writer, producer and director of films then an actor.

I think acting could be be his step up the ladder to him one day being money wise and experienced enough to become a high calbre director in his own right.

But fuck that we want countless classic hip hop records from him.

The list A actors by how much  money they get paid per flic, so there are only a few people.  I cant remember the threshold amt, but its something rediculous.  I know actors like tom cruise are A list actors, but because they can act or are famous, but because he makes at least that threshold

i used to think so, but it aint hard for ice cube to be ice cube, and thats all he is in evry movie ice cube, so i would have to say no, not even a b-list actor.

True, Ice Cube only plays himself in every movie. 2pac and Mos Def are easily better actors, so are Will Smith and Marky Mark. Ice Cube is good at playing himself and scowling at the camera, but that's where it ends.

Ice cube will never be an A list actor because I know its maybe wrong to say but he's never gonna have a hollywood movie star rep as Brad Pitt etc etc just due to his background......he's still gunna be hella famous but just like DMX etc. He wont be as famous as will smith cos will smith was doing alot of acting early on in FP etc.....plus will smith is my husband:)

cube has the wrong attitude.  if he wants to become an a-list actor all he needs to do is work on his versatility, do some smaller budget indie films where he can showcase his talent.  instead, cube seems to be waiting for people to throw big budget films at him (anaconda, xxx 2...etc), and that really won't cut it.  will smith had to engage himself in some gay shit (six degrees of separation) for people to start thinking of him as a good actor.

cube's plan is going to keep him in that sort of gimmick niche roll.

but seriously, most actors suck anyway.  is ben affleck an a-list actor?  ben can't act, but he's popular and can headline movies.  cube can surely reach the status of a guy like affleck from where he is.

and you guys are blowing up "a-list" to mean more than it actually does.  guys like pacino, deniro, washington...these guys are legendary (washington is approaching legendary) and above and beyond simply a-list status.  a-list is just the current headliners and such, not the greats of a particular era.

Will Smith best and most succesful rapper turned actor to the point where he is labelled as an rapper/actor but just an actor(But :grumpy: to him turning down the neo role). Personally i wouldn't class Mos def as a rapper turned actor cuz i read somewhere that he was into seriously into acting before he started rapping so to me he is a actor turned rapper turned actor again. Cube plays Cube in most of his films but i feel that the same can be said about Samuel L. Jackson cuz he plays the hard ass role alot but he as amazing stage presence. His acting is always not jus good but powerful and that makes him the GOAT Black actor for me. Cubes acting isnt powerful so he can't really be an A-Actor.
