Michael Owen scores on his first team debut after signing as a professional with Liverpool on his 17th birthday - 14 Dec 1996


Owen finishes the 1997-98 campaign - his first full season - as the Premiership's joint top scorer with 18 goals


In February 1998 England calls and Owen becomes the youngest player of the 20th century to represent his country


The world sits up and takes notice of Owen after he scores a wonder goal against Argentina at the 1998 World Cup


Owen fights injuries from 1999-01 so doesn't play in the 2001 League Cup win but returns to form for the 2001 FA Cup


Owen scores twice in the 2000-01 FA Cup final versus Arsenal to clinch one of the five trophies Liverpool held in that season


Another trophy soon follows for the Reds as they win the UEFA Cup final beating Alaves in a memorable 5-4 victory


The Red's fourth cup in 2000-01 is the FA Charity Shield and the fifth is the UEFA Super Cup as they beat Bayern Munich


Owen signs a new four year deal with Liverpool in September 2001 and ends the year as European Footballer of the Year


After 216 Liverpool appearances and 188 goals, Owen moves to Spanish giants Real Madrid in 2004 for £8m


Owen spends most of his time at Real on the bench though and as a bit-part player scores 16 goals in his first season


Owen now favours a return to the Premiership, and first-team football, and looks set to join Newcastle Utd for £17m

He did! He was complaining about not wining the league and struggling in europe when he was at liverpool and then signs with fuckin newcastle They might make europe but they aint wining the league, and when i mean make europe I dont mean champions league
