Proceeds from sales of The Rose, Vol. 2 will go to benefit the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation, which – along with fan and corporate donations – is raising the $3 million needed for the completion of the Center, which will serve as Tupac’s ultimate legacy: providing a safe place where youths from all backgrounds are free to express themselves creatively through the arts.
I never liked putting dead rappers with people who they never woulda worked with. I mean, none of us can sit here and say for 100% certainty that he would never want to work with Bleek (even if he is down with Jay Z), but doing shit like Thugs Mansion with NAS???My god, that's just ...wrong. lol...
I don't like the way that Afeni has treated Pac's music over the past years. Putting famous/trendy producers on his album & famous guest-appearances on his album just to get attention & to (hopefully) increase album sales. Is that keeping the legacy alive? Fuck no...that's keeping Pac's voice alive mixed with industry politics. And nothing else.
I may not agree with putting Pac along side BTNH and Bleek, but still... That list of artists for this compilation seems pretty acceptable to me.
