could be a good pickup. i kinda wonder how Kobe and Latrell's chemistry on the court would be. If youve watched Spree's career...he is definetely a scorer. He definetely has the shoot first pass second mentality. He might not have the green light so much in LA with Kobe tho. Spree and Kobe on the fast break would be a highlight film tho.

Lakers are close to a sign-and-trade deal to bring Jason Kapono back to LA (he was as star in college for UCLA)...Supposedly the Bobcats will recieve Jumain Jones in return. And Sprewell is still the Lakers number one goal...He is close to signing with the Lakers...Others who are waiting to sign if Sprewell decides not to are Jannero Pargo, Michael Olowakandi, Darius Songaila, Tom Gugliotta, and finally Eddy Curry (possibly in a sign-and-trade) along with Eric Piatowski...Sounds like the Lakers have a plan...

Phil is good at this. But Kobe has never really played with a star this big, with a score first mentality as a major ballhandler also. Obviously the Shaq/Kobe thing....but Shaq could only opt to score first, if someone passed him the ball. Kobe could get frustrated when Spree sprints down the court and pulls up for that little 10 foot jumper on a 1 on 4 fast break lol. In other words...pulls a Kobe

Same here. Last season Lakers werent that bad at all. They just performed bad, which is a different thing. We did it cause Rudy T. failed to coach the team (our offensive book was confused, while the defensive one was missing). We switched from triangle to "let's emulate the Showtime" offence, who was more like a "give the ball to Kobe and let's move" offence. Odom was been used as a PF, without using his full potential. Kobe was been used as the initiator of the offence, while he's a great finisher, not a creator (he cant play 48 mins in 1 vs 4, c'mon!), and there wasnt a system to cut some pressure off him (a good 2nd offensive option or the triangle). But anyway they was like 6th in the West with Rudy T! Not that bad. After Rudy retired, well.. everything collapsed, and Lakers suddenly started to play like a lottery team. But the team aint that bad, c'mon. Kobe, Odom, Brown: it's a nice trio. And Phil is Phil: the best. The next season will be a success if both Odom and Brown will perform better than they did during the last season.

Are you stupid? Why would he perform bad. The only reason he'd sign for 2.5 mil a year would be to get a big contract extension, which the Lakers will be able to afford in 2 years, so please tell me why he'd purposely perform bad if he's looking for a contract extension...
